Hey Clay, bummer I'm gonna miss you and Trophy Wife here in Atlanta (assuming you guys make it out).

Soulhound got on Floyd Fest this year so I'll be out of town that weekend.

This will be a great show.

Sent you an e-mail recently, hit me back when you get a chance, would love to catch up.

Don't worry, MTM, we will crack the whip on Adam for sure! Although I owe him one for taking care of my lucky cowboy hat through the Sat show @ Windjammer! I think Firefly would've been ready to kill me by mid-set if I'd kept it on!
So like I said, we're breakin' him in!

Swamp Cracka, if all goes well, me and my buddy from Fort Valley plan to stop in at Manuel's before the show. Hopefully we can get there around noon, just in time for a good lunch and few rounds of cold-ones. Maybe we can meet up there or anywhere else?

Got you covered Stan. We'll hoist a few in your favor!

I don't know what time HCR will end but if it's not too late I was thinking of heading over to Northside Tavern to catch some Mudcat but I'm down for anything. What do you say Swamp Cracka?

Let's all meet at Manuel's however. I drive a pick-up so your rides covered (not really since you'll have to ride in the back.)

The Highland Inn is a great place!!

What day are people arriving? Friday or Saturday? And are you departing Sunday? I have time off work and am considering making a mini-vacation out of the trip. I've never visited Atlanta or its surrounding areas. I may drive up from New Orleans on my own. Unless anybody from NOLA wanna carpool?

I have to decide between driving to ATL and seeing Mofro, or going to some Cajun happenings down at the boot tip of Louisiana.

Depending on what time you get in Friday:

COL. BRUCE HAMPTON & THE QUARK ALLIANCE
With Special Guest Captain Soularcat and Lullwater
is playing at Smith's Olde Bar (doors open at 8pm).
They have fairly decent food as well.

notfadeaway - looks like I'll not be able to hook up at Manuel's before the show - I'm booked up until 1:30pm - and then I'll be heading straight to the show.

Somebody needs to have something on that will identify the Mofrofans.com group at the show. Any ideas?

If I didn't think everyone who beheld me would need an immediate retinal transplant, I would take one for the team and go topless! :p
Actually I was thinking since Clay never got to do it in Boca Raton, he might be persuaded strip naked, paint his body up in camo & ride his unicycle. I can pretty much guarantee that sight would get easily noticed! :p

Well I would say to just meet up at the front of the stage, cuz iffin I was a going, that is where I would be. or y'all could punch in some coordinates in your fancy GPS's and gather at that spot, or you could all wear condoms (blown up of course) on the top of your heads, or if you do decide the topless thing, just incase others not knowing about the topless thing are topless, paint MOFRO on your chests and the "O"s in Mofro can be placed just so, well, I am sure you can figure that out. Or you could all just start to shout for me, and of course I wouldn't answer, but you all could find each other, or you
could.........

I'm trying to work out making this show but I will be flying solo. You guys care if I crash your partaaay?

Oh btw saw Hill country Revue last night at the handlebar here in Greenville and it was an AMAZING show. Cody and the boys bring it every time I see them and they are always down for drink after (enough to cause me to skip work today ugh!)

Anyway hope to meet up with the best fellow fans around next weekend!

Funny thing, they aren't latex. If they were latex, I would understand. They are vinyl. And my hands ITCH! I'm just checking into prices for flights, because I don't feel like driving 9 hrs after working a 12 hr night shift! But I may drive anyway. I would like to get to ATL on Friday, and depart Sunday or Monday.

Firefly, I miss you too! I wish you were coming to Atlanta! It's all good. I know you'll be 'round these parts soon.

Brigzz, of course you can crash this party! I think it's safe to say any fan of Mofro is a fan of mine! ;-)

So, I'm reading that . . .
briggzz is flying solo,
mofrofans1 is thinking road trip,
FireFly will be in minnesota,
estanley1 might be here without Sue Webb who will be in Sturgis, but if he is, he'll have beers on,
Sunshine is only 3.5 hours away,
fnova is up for a road trip with his cock out,
giggles is flying in on Saturday so she doesn't get in trouble on Friday,
Beaufro will be traveling with a virgin,
JDude, Liz, and Heather are in (I know where y'all are from),
antsyashley is in need of a vacation from NOLA,
SwampCracka will be heading straight to the show from work, so I know where he's from,
and was wondering, where exactly are all of y'all coming from? This is some crazy shit.

Speaking of crazy, if anyone needs a ride from the airport Friday or early Saturday shoot me an email (if you can trust me!)

I went to the Masquerade last night and if it wasn't for Mofro playing there this Saturday I wouldn't go back. I got into an argument in the parking lot with the staff before the show. I paid $10 to park, then find about 200 nails in a pile directly behind my truck and the fellow's next to me. It took us a good 20 minutes to pick all the shit up. Anyway, we are parked in an old construction lot which I understand but when the staff started cussing out people who were refusing to park where they were instructed to, I about lost it. For $10 a vehicle the rat-bastards could at least do a sweep of the lot or let you park elsewhere. I told them I wouldn't park there next week, especially paying $10. At least the lot guy apologized. I was satisfied for the time being.

The shows went great with moe. playing first and Ratdog closing the evening. The Ratdog set was beautiful. I've got to admit that this was the first time I ever cried at a show. Tears were a streaming during He's Gone and I was getting a little worried that I wouldn't be able to compose my self. Long story.

Turns out that I did NOT have a late pass to get in to see Perpetual Groove. Cover charge was $20. I only had $10. I thought I purchased the late night show with my ticket like I've supposedly done with the mofro show, but I guess not. Well, I found someone to give me their "pink" arm band who was not staying for p-groove and tried giving the fella my only $10 but he refused. Thanks bro! I put the arm band on my right arm and when I tried walking into the joint the doorman said "Wrong arm! What are doing, trying to steal? I could have you arrested!" I told the son of bitch to go ahead, get the cops, I bought this armband from a dude outside the venue. He told me to leave and not come back. About this time I was happy to oblige though saddened to not be able to see p-groove and hang for a while. Apparently, since there were not actual "tickets" for this event I couldn't get one from someone not going. If only I would have put that damn arm band on my left wrist. Live and learn.

Ended up hanging out in the parking lot for a while listening to yours truly (08.13.04) and picking up more shit from behind the vehicles.

Like I said in an earlier post, I've got a truck so we should all meet somewhere and pile in the back. Save your $10. Maybe we could meet at Kroger after Manuel's. What do you say SwampCracka?

Dang notfadeaway - what a bad experience - I'm just glad the shows were good. I'll probably, because I'm tied up until about 2, have my wife drop me and some other Mofro fans off at the venue, and then go from there. I'll be in the JSO camo hat. If I get free early enough - we'll drop in @ Manuel's for a pre-show beer or four.

Damn, nfa, that blows. Sounds like whoever they contract to do their parking needs get real. I've half a mind to forward this thread to the mgt at Masquerade.

Thanks for jumping on and letting us all know. Any suggestions for them that may not fit or don't want to ride in the back of a truck?

My brother-in-law who lives down there says that parking in front, I repeat, in front of Kroger is cool. He strongly recommended to not park in the back, though a lot of people do. It's less than a 1/2 mile away so you can walk. Depending on the circumstances that day, I may even park there myself. I would not recommend walking from there by yourself however.

Regardless, let's just try to all meet up so we can pre-party together whether it be at Manuel's, in the parking lot and/or both.
