Holy shit...23 songs? I was there and that still amazes me. The Pray for Rain encore was one of my all-time favorite encores. None ever more fitting. Thanks JJ, for bringing it hard and for such great causes. These are the things of which musical heros are made.

here's an update on "the cause" that inspired the Jam in the first place... One of the reasons we were raising money was because we were in court with the Town of Palm Beach over an environmental issue ('we' being both the Snook Foundation and Surfrider Palm Beach County). After 2 years, and literally tens of millions of dollars spent by the Town to "make us go away," the judge ruled unanimously in our favor on 29 specific environmental concerns. The problem is, in a case like this, we had to wait for the Secretary of State of Florida, Honerable Mike Sole, to give the final word. 3 days ago he lowered the boom, agreed with the judge and the case is closed. We won. For once, the little guy armed with common sense, and some very competent scientists from Duke, NC State, UM, and other leading research universities, took down Goliath. It was a precedent setting case, which made international news within hours and was used in court cases in NJ and San Fran within two weeks. Also unfortunately, winning doesn't mean we get any money - we are still GLADLY paying for our victory. JJ's gracious time at the Jam, along with the other musicians that donated their time, went a long way to recover some of our costs. It should be no surprise that JJ doesn't just provide lip service about his love for Florida. It's not an act - he has the passion and he put his time and face on the line for what is important to him. Those of us that frequently visit this site already understand JJ, his passion is obvious and makes his music real to those of us that listen. Cheers to him, and all of you good folks that supported our cause through him. Brett

And thank you, Brett and everyone else envolved, for stepping up and fighting the good fight for all of us! Let's do it again real soon....I'll be more than happy to pass out flyers or anything else to help get more people out in support!!
Gregg has already offered to donate and design the next SSSJ poster if the situation ever presents itself. ---------- "No effort, no gain No effort, stay the same No don’t you ever try to live a lie"
Fabulous news Brett. Our pleasure to do what we could. Hats off to all involved in both foundations--all volunteering their time for such worthy causes that ultimately impact all of us.
If you've got any fundraisers coming up Brett let me know. I'd be happy to put up a link on the site. I'm sure there are several who would like to help, even if it's just 5 or 10 bucks toward the cause.
