Y'know, Sunshine mentioned on another thread that perhaps JJ will be working on a new CD in the next few months (and she talked to him after a recent show she was at so she's got a little inside info.)

As y'all know, JJ has designed all of the covers to date so there's no reason to expect the same won't happen this time. The name of the album is a closely held secret, I have no idea what it is. Maybe we'll see it come out this summer...we can hope right??!

Soooooo...who can guess the color? JJ's followed an obvious pattern with primary colors in the earth tones range so do we assume the same? All of the covers have had a very nice use of "white space"--they're simple and uncluttered and fit the band to a T.

We got an off-white/ecru sort of color for Blackwater, dark green for Lochloosa, yellow for Country Ghetto, and orange for Orange Blossoms. So is he running out of colors? He hasn't used blue or red. What do y'all think? If you can correctly guess what color will be used then you win a pat on the back and the praise and accolades from all your friends and extended Mofro family. That's better'n cash!! (almost)

Of course jessiejames beats me to it with purple... What about going with the color JJ Grey? (Gray)

As for the new album name, all four have been after the title track, so I would put my money on The Hurricane. Somehow I don't see it being King Hummingbird, but could be wrong.

With that, gray would probably be the color to fit the name of the album. Can't think of any other color that would be fitting of a Hurricane than gray. Guess it is obvious as to why the Orange Blossoms album cover is Orange, Lochloosa being green and so on.

Don't forget that Choice Cuts is brown and has a tight cover design as well. I remember how excited I was when I was awaiting the release of Orange Blossoms. What a nice feeling to anticipate a new release by the genius of JJ Grey!

I sit corrected antsy. I plum fergot about Choice Cuts. Yep, brown's been used too. I'm liking what DT's saying. Has he said The Hurricane is going to be on the next record? Gray would make sense. Hmmmmm...

I think Orange & Blue is what YOU want Jimbo!

And don't think you can come in here with your little purple remark and then sneak out Jesse. I saw it!

Don't judge a book by its cover. It's only what's inside the next Mofro CD that counts for me. I do miss the days of vinyl though when a album cover and the record envelope could be really interesting.
