Prolly been done before but just in case, here's my state of mind at this very second.

Can you recall the first time you heard a MOFRO or JJ Grey & MOFRO tune, and was it "all over" with that first introduction?

I just discussed mine with my wife. A bud drove over (to West Palm) from Tampa in 2003, and right after we got home from a long, good night of fishing he busted out Black Water. He's a bit younger and always came from the 'little brother' angle, so before he put it in my stereo he was making apologies. "It's OK if you don't like it..., It might not be your thing anymore...," etc.

First two bars of song 1 (black water), I knew I was in trouble.

Before the song was over I was ordering Blackwater and Lochloosa online.

first of awl tox, I LOVE the term "'Fro-Ment"......

you may be sorry you asked, lol!!! :o)....

It 'twas September 2006, friends were visiting our little holler from Clearwater, Fl (I lived in Dunedin for 24 years).....We were out enjoying the cool air at night sitting by the fire pit....Gregg is always interested in hearing "new" or "different" music.....they put on "Blackwater".

I was to involved conversing/watching the kids, etc. to notice what amazing music was put before me.....

fast forward to a week later.......

I took the day off to steam clean the carpets (I apologize for those that have heard this story before)...

Gregg works out of the house and said that the CD that he heard when Glenn was here he really enjoyed, and this band was going to play the Orange Peel next month, would I like to go.......

I replied "put them on my iPOD and I will take a listen while I clean the carpets"......

I can remember it so vividly...I was about 1/4 way thru the title track of Blackwater, paused my iPOD, and opened the door to his office, and said "get the tickets!!"

we walked away from that concert, and Gregg stated, and I quote (to this day) "that was the best concert I have EVER seen....hands down!)......I was blown away....

and I am blown away more and more by this band everyday, from hearing different stories, to amazing facts, to meeting my cyber (soon to meet in real life, Mofronains) and real friends from this board, and listening to this incredibley talented group of the most down to earth guys, has changed my life for the better (aynd my life didn't even need fixin).......

Mofro is now apart of my daily routine...

:o)

My FRO-ment: It was only 1 1/2 years ago for me, (just a baby compared to most of you.) I heard Orange Blossoms on the radio in the car and loved it. Loved JJ's voice. I didn't catch the name of the song or band and it was bugging me. A few days later I heard it again while at work and still didn't catch the name. I just had to know who this was, so I googled 'orange blossoms' as soon as I got home and the rest is history. I have seen them 3x in that 16 months, twice in Indy and once in Mississippi. I can't get enough!

My first was in 2001 or 2002, one day just playing around on the internet and came across Fog City Records ( at that you could listen to the whole cd) and I saw the name and had to listen....It was Love at first listen.

This Sept. caught them at a jazz & blues fest in my home town. I was slack jawwed after a couple songs but when they did WYLF about half way through the set, that was it. Went to see them again the next night, picked up OB and ordered the other 3 CD's online. Oh and got a chance to talk to Anthony F. before the second show and JJ, Andrew and Dennis after. Been listening every day since then.

First time I saw them was in Myrtle Beach at the House of Blues. They were opening for Ben Harper. As soon as I heard the first song, I was hooked. Had Blackwater within a few days.
