Daryl's band is opening for Thomas Wynn and the Believers at Mojo's. Daryl, AC and Shane P will be bringing it to the hometown.

You missed my Orlando Daryl post Danny. Not only did he talk, introducing each song, but he sang lead vocals on every single song. And he stood; no chair.

AC is his drummer and Shaney P from Inca Maya is his bass player. Daryl killed on the guitar. I took some vids but I'm having problems uploading them but hopefully will figure it out.

Good to hear from you. (I'll take the bet.)

I felt exactly the same way!!! I think I stood there gape-mouthed practically the whole time, thinking "who is this dude and what have they done with the REAL Daryl?!?"

I've heard from you and other band members before that Daryl is actually very funny, very intelligent, and can talk when he wants to. It's just strange to see a glimpse of a completely different side of Daryl than we are accustomed to. And VERY COOL!

But I still want to know when the aliens made the switch! ;)

Hope you are well, Danny!

Before the show he was out in the crowd watching the opener. He was talking up a storm (well...for Daryl.) And he can be damn funny. He's caught me totally off guard a couple times. He's REAL dry. Here's an example from this past wknd:

Clay: So you got a vocalist...who's doing vocals??

Daryl: I am.

Clay: YOU?

Daryl: Yeah. Me, and Shane on backups.

Clay: No kidding I didn't know you sang.

Daryl: Yep.

Clay: No shit man, so you're singing!?

Daryl: No not right now.

So we talked a little more about his band and if he's gonna be doing more gigs (yes, he is), and other shit, and I couldn't help myself but go back to him singing. I just couldn't picture it.

Clay: I still can't get over this man, I can't believe it, I had no idea that you sang.

Daryl: No. Usually I just sit there.

Damn. Next thing we'll find out is that Daryl is a CIA operative that specializes in counter operations vs. South American paramilitary groups.

To my knowledge there is no Jimbo dictionary in existence. And he don't come with no translator. If you're a Southerner then you have a much better chance of understanding him. If you're from up north or from Canada you're in a heap of HUH?

Sunny, you got the bq part right. Yay!

Weeeellllll.

You know what's funny is that Jimbo's a talker; he loves to talk. His boy Daryl, not so much. And he's got a gaggle of sisters too so I simply believe that between them and his dad, Daryl never got a chance to get a word in edgewise growing up.

What's even funnier is that I bet that devil dawg Jimbo is sitting back right now getting a big ol laugh over everybody trying to guess.

I ain't going tonight, I'm going tomorrow night (to the Social). skotdee and johndude are going tonight though. I'd love to come tonight but that 7 hour round trip's a killer with all the travel I got coming up in the next 2 weeks. The 3 hrs roundtrip to Orlando is a bit easier.

Jeannette,LISA, ASHLEY & I arrive around 6pm & started the soothing cleaning process of BLUE -

After a hr. or so of LIP SALAD, we graduated to the
"LITTLE THING"/SOUTHERN STYLE , CATFISH FILLETS &
FINGERS,"BOOM-BOOM-BBQ SHRIMP & EPA-buy GREEN SALADS
galore & here comes the Bright lites of the nite ,
never to miss a GIG -JD & LIZ,SCOTT ,Then JJ
disguised
under a headphone & PU load of Equipment.JD said
damn ,he thought DARYL'S BAND was going on TV live.
Has DARYL hired a new vidio/soundman????heh-heh
Show started at 10pm & came out with some smooth crooning songs that made chills run up my back,
causing my old body to request more BLUE MOON, so
that I could survive this enjoyable event.

Well gooooodamn! I'm thinking mebbee I shoulda come all the way up there after all. Johndud and skot both texted me pics. JD first, sent me a pic of JJ with the headphones on at the sound board. I couldn't believe it. They sent me another of JJ and a couple of the band playing.

Sounded like a GREAT nite. You bet we're looking a-real forward to another meal at Mojo's when we're up there for new year's. Might have to go a couple times.

Glad the whole family could go, I'm sure Daryl appreciated it. And as for you, well...y'all think he's proud of his boy or what!?

Sounds like a great time was had by all! It's times like these that I really wished I lived in Florida. But if I did live in the Sunshine State, I can't imagine the mischief I would get into with Liz, TW, SueWebb, morena & Firefly!

I wanna see those Pics Jimbo! Great to see Daryl in a different element, KILLIN it on lead guitar! And a SMOKIN' set from Thomas Wynn & The believers, really diggin these guys as of late. What a great warm up for the upcoming Mofro FL Run, gettin PSYCHED! And my personal favorite part of the evening? Talkin' tapin with freekin JJ Grey, who busted out the eye candy with some beautiful Dragonfly Mics and enough studio equipment that they had to run a drop cord to power it all! I just *thought* I knew a little about recording ;) Anyway, just wanted to drop a line, Bring On The FREEBIRD!

Here are some pics I shot on the iphone. Quality isn't great, but I forgot my camera so this is all I got...
