I would say yes.......iffin it ain't too far a drive, not sure how far you would have to go DT. We experienced our first outdoor festival show with Mofro and we drove almost 2 hrs, not bad. They played for about 1 1/2 hrs. Even though we are all used to the "usual" 2 1\2 - 3 hrs shows, I was very impressed with the outdoor experience!! ---------- "If you've never seen us before, don't be bashful - sing along from start to finish........and dance & feel good.....there's enough shit in the world, let it all out...........Brighter Daaaaays...."
I wish I could be there for it, but looks like I'll be tied up this weekend at work. Of course it ends up on a weekend where the University (U of AZ) here has Parents Weekend. I work in the hotel industry, one that is close to the University to top it off, so we are full and busy. I'll just have to wait until they come back through Phoenix, which hopefully isn't too long from what JJ said when I talked to him in LA.
Hey Sunshine, the drive for that is about 6 hours to where that festival is, and through pretty much all bare desert until you get to San Diego where it finally shows signs of life. That, and I just did that trip for the So Cal run in August, SD then up to LA and back. I think the final tally was 4 days, three nights, car said it was 118 degrees while driving through the desert, two Mofro shows, almost 1,500 miles, but most importantly, got to meet and hang with Kim, as well as, two Brighter Days!

Oh DT- you are a sweetheart- it was great hanging with you guys too. I figured it might be too far and damn it all it being parents weekend… And your right there aint shit between you and me…nothing but desert.
Looking forward to a gig 10 minutes from my house though and all the other bands playing and of corse the Beer Garden :)
I’ll report back
And Clayster what kind of smartass remark did you post and decide to remove…huh?:-P"" ---------- ~Music is what feelings sound like~
Great show yesterday/last night- hotter than hell (high 90’s) in the mountains of Alpine. Mofro came on at a perfect time- it had started to cool down. We were front and center which made the show feel pretty personal which was great but not usually the spot we choose. There were two stages with continuous music playing all day but Mofro had a nice size crowd (Texas Tornados were playing at the same time)
The band sounded great Art was not there (I’m sorry I can’t remember the other gentleman’s name that played sax last night- he did a fine job fillin’ in) JJ mentioned they flew out yesterday and were flying back after the show- that probably has something to do with it- A huge thank you to Mofro for the effort that was made coming out to this gig.
Set from memory (I was designated driver last night so my memory’s pretty good) no particular order-think I got them all Hoochie Coochie Man Country ghetto Lochloosa Everything good is bad Brighter days Ho cake Jookhouse Orange Blossoms Higher You Climb Ybor City Circles Blackwater
Of course we loved the music but one thing that I will remember from this show was the way he sang Lochloosa..(every song really but Lochloosa particularly)-- I’ve seen him sing it at just about every show I have been to and he always sings it with conviction but the way he sang it last night, to a mixed crowd of families, casino go-er’s and bbq lovers, was with as much passion as I have seen him sing it in his home state- that is impressive to me- I couldn’t help but just watch him sing every word.
Side note ladies- JJ cut his hair (don’t remember if anyone mentioned it) and was wearing the boots :)
Anyways another great Mofro show- converted 3 more virgins too.. :)
oh poo, I liked it longer, but just as well as I like it short too!! :o)
thanks Kimberly for the review!! Seems as if everyone has the same experience with Lochloosa lately, that is wonderful! ---------- "If you've never seen us before, don't be bashful - sing along from start to finish........and dance & feel good.....there's enough shit in the world, let it all out...........Brighter Daaaaays...."
Thanks for the review there Kimberly. Sounds like y'all had fuuuuun! I'm guessing since it was a one-off gig in Calif that Art stayed behind in Memphis. Happens from time to time. Maybe Bowwow or someone can come on and tell us who sat in.
Thanks for the pic you sent me during the show Kimberly. She texted me a pic of JJ's boots y'all. Serious now, I really don't have a shoe fetish! (Back me up here TW.)
