While y'all are getting ready for the next big happening, some us of pathetic souls are sitting back and just dreaming of ways to get out of family obligations like school fundraiser movie night(since we got asked to bring our setup and do a movie outdoors), then off to do the YMCA's "Family Camp", try to tell the kids no on that one. I looked up airfare just to see how bad it would be(hell, I could get over that sting soon enough)to ge our butts down there, and then reality set in hard. So, what I am going to do today is pretend a bit, by first knocking out a couple of things here at home, to help the oldest one earn some money while he helps me(since he bought himself a PS 3)with some cleaning up, so then he can buy a new game. Then, we are going to walk right down the street, to the end of the alley to be exact, and take in the annual "Barbeque Competition", HOT DAMN does it smell goooooooddddd !!! Grab a plate, and either enjoy it sitting along the bulkhead, looking out over Elliot Bay, sucking in the aromas of barbeque, and salt water, thinking about being down south with y'all, or maybe running back home to eat it and through on some kinda eatin' music.....and you know what I am talking about !! Hell again, come to think about it, I think that the other half "DollHat" told me she grabbed the other CD/Lochloosa, and put it in her car, since I left it out of mine, cause now she's got them all in her car, and she seemed pretty damned proud of it too ! I might just have to come back and turn on the computer, or go out and buy one while I sit back and grup on some ribs, chicken, cornbread........ If I was smart, I would take some music with me to the beach, and turn some folks onto some fine eatin' music.....help spread the word......on a Sunday !!
I miss having backyard comps! For our last 10 years of living in Florida, Gregg & I thru what we deemed "The Beer B Que". We had our tiki hut out back with a bar, the speakers, etc. We had our own competion using ribs every year. We even had judges with ballots and prize money. I must say that I took 1st place twice!! Gregg would design tee shirts and we had a different theme each year. The tees went for $10 and it helped fund the party. We provided the pulled pork and all the tradition sides and the full liquor bar with a bartender and everyone would bring a side dish or dessert!.........ahhhh those were the days........
Richard I sure hope you stuff yourself silly and spread the Mofro Love!!! ---------- "If you've never seen us before, don't be bashful - sing along from start to finish........and dance & feel good.....there's enough shit in the world, let it all out...........Brighter Daaaaays...."
