Now Mr. D, I sure aiyn't tryin to go and tell you how to run the site.......
I don't know how often you trade out pictures on the main page, but I know it has been maybe 6-7 months, Imma justa guessing....buuuut, why not have us fine folks submit some photos that we have all taken of the boys and have some sort voting system and the winner will get his/her shot up on the site and maybe a little blurb sayin sumptin about the photo they took.
Thank You.. Come Again... Have a nice day!!

Sounds good to me. I've got a ton of good shots from last year and I bought a new SLR w/ a kick ass low light lens so I don't have to use a flash. I'd love to see JJ and the boys through another fan's eyes.
Cool with me. Post 'em here and we'll figure out a voting system and a deadline when the time comes. Put your pitchers up and you could be featured on the home page.
Even though I LOVE my camera to pieces, there is one flaw I find, it is that it doesn't take that great of photos in dark places unless the subject is closer. I found a shot of when the boys did Bele Chere in 2007 and JJ is on the keys, but not sure if I want to post cuz he don't play the keys for now.
And Clay, if you don't get alot of so called entries, you could still rotate out different shots from the fans. Like hhfan said, I also would like to see shots of the boys thru the eyes of other fans.
I know Ashely has some amazing shots, maybe she will send a couple your way.
I will keep searching and who knows what October 9th and The Orange Peel may develop!?!?

easiest way is to post it up on a Flickr account or something similiar and then embedd the picture so it shows up all nice and pretty like Sunshine's picture just above your post. Same thing goes for video, post it on You Tube and then copy the embedding link, post it in a message and it will show up in within the message content.

Mofro for life in Arizona The Rhythm Room is exactly that when the boys are kicking it here. "Walking on Moonlight in the Day."
I can not...can not, take credit that I am not due, for that photo above of JJ pouring out his emotion...his soul into his music was taken by
"FireFly at The Engine Room in January. It makes my heart happy just to look at it =)", Giggles beamed! ---------- "If you've never seen us before, don't be bashful - sing along from start to finish........and dance & feel good.....there's enough shit in the world, let it all out...........Brighter Daaaaays...."
Oooooh, I was at that show. I think. Goddam short term memory...
HHfan, as DT said, Flickr is a good option. You don't need to get the paid "pro" version, just the free account (unless you plan on uploading thousands of pics.) There are many other options out there for photo uploading/organizing. Just be sure, as DT said, that whomever you sign up with offers an 'embed' option. Then it is indeed as simple as copying the embed code and pasting it into a message post.
Essentially, the photos have to be hosted somewhere online. If there is no embed code you can use this: -- and replace the XXXXXXXXXX with the url from where the photo exists online. (www.nameofsiteandjpeg)
Lastly, you can just send the photo to me and I will gladly post it for you. Send to webmaster@mofrofans.com.
Keep 'em coming y'all. Winner(s) get bragging rights and their photo posted on the home page.

Sunny I forgot to comment on your earlier post. My camera is the same way. I keep the flash off and as long as the venue has good stage lighting and I'm within 8 or 10 "rows" from the stage then it's cool. Otherwise they generally suck.
As for a photo with JJ playing keys. I've talked to him about the keys. Not to pick on your comment, but to clarify things, JJ has not said anything like "he doesn't play keys anymore." He's enjoying not having them there right now but I think there will be times when he'll still play it.
He told me that because so many venues they play have small stages that he felt something had to give. Perhaps he was anticipating that with Adam's departure the band would grow to 7--but he did not tell me that, it's just my speculation.
But the main reason for its departure is because he wants to cut loose. And anyone who had been to a show this year (interestingly since the "loss" of his keyboard) can attest to the fact that he has.
These days he's pretty much constantly in motion, dancing around in his inimitable style, not just throwing to the guys but taking it to them.
This from a guy who admits that in his early gigs he played from partly behind a speaker because he was so intimidated playing before a crowd.
I've been to 13 shows in the past 8 months. At EVERY show people are saying it's the best one they've ever seen. The band is working together beautifully and JJ has upped his stage presence.
JJ told me that the energy amongst the guys is the best he's had in a long time. He said no offense to George or Adam, but the band he has behind him now are so in the slot that he doesn't have to worry about anything. He can just let them loose and not worry about what they are--or aren't--going to do.
AC told me that the cameraderie on the bus is as good as it can get and said that contributes to what happens on stage too.
I don't feel comfortable quoting anything JJ said because I didn't write anything down--it was not like a formal interview or anything--but one thing I do remember distinctly. He said: "It got to the point that the keyboard was just getting in the way."
And he's got dancing shoes. He quit wearing his cowboy boots...I first noticed at the Dec 27 show in Delray Bch. While I know some of the young ladies on the board have said it's easier to dance in boots, I respectfully disagree. Have you ever worn them pointy toe cowboy boots night after night after night on stage? I ain't but years ago I used to have me some of them boots. I think the thing I enjoyed the most about them was taking them off.
He's got him so red sneakers, blue, black...that's all we've noticed so far. And man, he's jumping like a jumping bean. I'm sure y'all have seen the shot of him in mid air at the Peel. He's done shit like that at every show I've seen this year. When he hits an encore like Junior or Ho Cake he starts jumping around. As I said, he's really enjoying the freedom on stage and as I think many will attest, his stage presence has hit a new level!
Sorry for the long post y'all.

Okay...I thought I was done, but the other thing that's noticeable is his guitar playing. He's lead guitarist. And he seems to have gotten much more comfortable settling into his own style. He's playing guitar a lot more now, obviously, and in my opinion he's even improved over the last year or 2. But he really seems to be in a groove with a style he can call his, with the influences of those he's laid down before like Tony Joe White, Jerry Reed, and others. ---------- MofroFan1
Cool, I figured it was like most message boards. I'll probably email you some pics though. I'm sure I'll get some killer ones this October. The lighting was awful at the Bluebird here in Bloomington, so I had to use my flash. I felt really bad after the show. That was when I decided to buy some new camera equipment.
I really miss JJ on keys. Maybe he'll break em out for some shows. I noticed him wearing tennis shoes back in February. I thought it was a little odd, but he def moved a lot more in them.
I was listening to their Bonnaroo set from a few years back and they don't sound like the same band, in a good way. That show was killer, but his voice has so much more character now. GD I'm getting excited.
I miss the keys also, but understand why they have been put on the back burner. I would say Clay is pretty much dead on as to why. I would say that the only time he brings the keys back would be for special shows like BSR or some FLA shows. Maybe solo shows which from what I understand are lined up? The TX and IL shows next March?
To add to what Clay said, not only to make room for on stage, but I would say that taking the keys on tour is probably a pain as well. I know JJ hand made the encasing for his keys and they aren't easy to haul around the US every day. Plus, gotta make room for the bass player being added with the Greyhounds and to me I think that gives Anythony on the keys to cover for what JJ was doing on the keys. To me, it seemed like Scone had more bass and JJ would compliment with the keys. With the bass player, Anthony can compliment with his keys and JJ can dance, jump, and wail on guitar. Not to mention, kinda hard to tell people to dance and have a good time when you are sitting down at the keys. JJ really has a great stage presence either way and being a long time piano player, I sure do miss em, but they aren't lost forever, that's for sure.

I shurely don't mind JJ jumping and moving more and shaking his booty up there on the stage.....if it took the removal, temporary as it may be, of the keys, then so be it...Giggles, do you not agree??!?!
:o)
and DT, I totally agree with you observation of his amazing stage presence! ---------- "If you've never seen us before, don't be bashful - sing along from start to finish........and dance & feel good.....there's enough shit in the world, let it all out...........Brighter Daaaaays...."
Yes indeedy! I surely do enjoy watching JJ let loose on the stage! There is nothing quite as fine as a well made man shakin' his behind:p
On a more serious note, I love the energy and presence that he brings to the stage when he is not confined to sitting at the piano.......but by the same token there is something so wistful and poignant seeing him play the piano. ---------- Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History
This ain't my pic, in fact, I believe it is the work of Captain Clay. I absolutely love it. It looks like JJ has the entire crowd tied to his right arm. The energy increasing with every syllable of the sermon. Preach on!

I also like this one, just cause it looks cool. (and cause I took it!) ---------- "Now if you happened to come down here tonight...and you don't wanna hear the person next to you sang, and you don't want'em to dance, cause you might spill your drink, you came to the wrong show in the wrong venue."
Great slide show!! Ya know, I still have not washed nor worn that shirt since that show.

sure do, she asked my brother, Sunrise (who had the same shirt), if she could buy it so her husband could wear it when, well, you know AND he was ok with it!?!?
talk her into it, well that shouln't be too hard!! ---------- "If you've never seen us before, don't be bashful - sing along from start to finish........and dance & feel good.....there's enough shit in the world, let it all out...........Brighter Daaaaays...."
BTW, GREAT shots estanley!! Love the ominous clouds lingering in the backround.

sorry this is so big, I tried to reduce it a couple of times. I have it selected to be the usual medium in size...but sometimes bigger is better... ---------- "If you've never seen us before, don't be bashful - sing along from start to finish........and dance & feel good.....there's enough shit in the world, let it all out...........Brighter Daaaaays...."
