Just saw today where Papa Mali will be playing a Free Show at Tipitina's in New Orleans on 8/28. Gonna try and make this one....Ashley, I sure hope you can make it and tape. If I can get there, we'll definitely get a soundboard hookup!!

I hope you got there Stan for I would love to hear some current Papa Mali. The last one I got and attended was at Smith's earlier this year. Great show as always!

I talked to Malcolm the other day and told him I was jonesin' for some new live Papa Mali, but haven't seen much available lately. He said that's strange as most every festival (and regular gig) he plays there is atleast one taper. Perhaps these people recording are on the festival circuit and won't have time to upload anything until the season is over....who knows!

Thanks man. Like always, I'll keep checking the LMA. Would love to hear him with Kreutzmann again. I'm sure CoTapers (Ethan!) will come through however.

Malcolm and Robert Hunter have been working on several new songs (Hunter lyrics, Mali music) and in fact, he said that Robert just finished several songs that he wrote just for Malcolm. He is going into the studio with Billy Kreutzmann this Fall/Winter and should have a new album out some time next year.....really looking forward to hearing this collaboration!!
