Co-bill with Shooter Jennings huh? Interesting. Comments? Opinions? Y'all don't be shy. We're all friends so I ain't worrying bout no online fights or nuthin. Let's see what everybody thinks. For that matter, I'd think JJ and his management would be interested in what we're thinking about it.

Well, I had a co-worker that recently seen Shooter Jennings and his band Assjack at Freebirds a couple weeks ago.She is not a seasoned concert goer and she said it was strange. But I think they were expecting some old school country...which she said they play some.But was mostly hard core type rock...according to her. I have made a MOFRO fan outta her and most everyone else at work! :) Even took one guy to Skippers and now he takes his crew to Freebirds on NYE to see them. She said she would love to see MOFRO live sometime, can't wait to tell her they are co-billing with Shooter!

Yeah dweez, it's not the co-bill I expected. I will say that I've got a friend of mine I've been trying to get to a Mofro show for 3 years and he's a big Shooter fan. He's already committed to going and I'm sure he'll then be one of the converted.
One difference I guess, is that for the Derek Trucks and Mule shows Mofro was the opener. From what I understand about this tour it's a co-bill, with Mofro taking the headlining position more often than not.

I saw Shooter a few years ago and was really impressed. Very diverse musically. Twangy country one minute and rocking the next. I'm ecstatic that I'll be able to catch the Indy and Louisville shows. I thought I'd heard something about an 18 month hiatus. What happened to that? Actually, who cares cuz Mofro is back on the road and in my neck of the woods.

Me sooooooooooo selfish but I sure hope they come back to the SEATTLE area in 2010 .... this band has me so juiced up ..... I just don't have enough good to say about these guys .... Flying high STILL & only 6 more days until the ZOO baby ... Seattle is calling for 88 deg & sunshine so it's gonna be a PARTY!!!!!

That's what I've been reading hhfan that Shooter mixes up and lately has been more southern-rock oriented.
That aside, hhfan that's the first I've heard of any 18 month hiatus. The band is booked up into March next year. I'm not aware of any plans past or future of such a hiatus and I'm not saying that I'm all that "plugged-in" but I'd hope I'da heard something like that.
They took a 2 month hiatus earlier in the year when JJ's wife had a baby girl. Discerning their calendar since then it seems there have been about the same amount of breaks this year as in the past, but this year's have been 4, 5, 6 days where in the past there was like 2-3 days. Purely guessing here that that's the case so JJ can be spend a little more time with Simonne and the baby.
Like I say I sure ain't the definitive word on nuthin so if anybody else knows/heard something then chime on in. If it's a rumor and ain't true, we'll quash it. Thanks for speaking up hhfan and sharing that.

I fergot in last post...message to jjhitsmysoul: It seems they're establishing quite a fan base up y'alls way and right on up north of you into the GWN, eh? Don't read anything into this that I know something that I don't because what I do know is that I don't know anything and don't want to be miscontrued as to knowing something that I don't know or not knowing something that I do know, ya know?
Whew! What I'm trying to say is that I'd be shocked if they ain't up your way 2-3 times next year. BUT I wouldn't count on it til like after March or April!

Right on!!! I like your thinking BUT will not hold you to the 2-3 times ... will just hold onto HOPE that it will happen ... YES they're getting quite the fan base up here in the good old Pacific Northwest & Canada eh!!! THEY ARE ALWAYS WELCOME IN SEATTLE or ANYPLACE in the Pacific Northwest!!! I know we would love to see them back next year in Winthrop at the Blues Festival ... Just keep the HAPPY TOUR thoughts for your friends here in the NW & we hope to make it your way sometime for a show!!!!

Since I opened up the forum to talk about Shooter I'll blow off some steam. How come when you go on his MySpace page it just has his name but when you go on Mofro's MySpace page they're kind enuf to include him? Geez cowboy it'd be nice to include your co-bill on your schedule. Okay, okay I'm being pissy...
