Oooooooooooooo you know it!!! We are counting down the days until August 19th ... it can't get here soon enough ... I still am amazed at how this music has seriously touched me like no other ... woo hoo still flying high I tell ya ... and buying a beer for JJ in the beer tent in Winthrop ... and seeing him go up on stage & ROCK the jam session holding the beer I bought him ... PRICELESS =}
Hey Mofrofans1, I am behind on getting pictures and video uploaded....sorry. Still having flashbacks from last weekend, can't get over the fact that the whole thing was a flat out blast like being strapped to the bottom of a bass boat, duct tapped to a super model, with two shots of Makers Mark,in warm non cotton mouthed waters, and being told to just hang on ! The weather, the music, the friends, the crowd, the road trip, the company, the food, the sights, the sounds, and the smells, all rocked. We got to spend a decent amount of time just talking with JJ, who my wife spotted outside of the beer garden, walked up tohim, locked arms, and told him how great the show was, and then told me "there he is....." Oh man, it only got better from there. We all stood around with him taking pictures, talking about music, his experiences, influences, home, family, RVs, buses, pecan trees, food, you name it. but mainly, telling him how much his music has touched our lives, and how it has connected to or with us. I found myself taking pictures of strangers, with him, after finding out that they were fans, or had on the same "Ornge Blossom" t-shirt, and just enjoying the chance to watch others get excited, or tell him how much they enjoy his music. Hell, it was great to get (except Daryl's and the baseplayer's ?) pic and autograph, or have them stand with me and get a pic. Art and Anthony are characters, and when we /I asked Art if anyone else had brought dolls to their shows..... he pretty much told me that I was the only freak out there doin' it. Right On !!! Clay, JJ told me after asking him what he liked to eat, as I also asked the other guys too, and how might we be able to get a big spread of food to the boys in the band, as well for the crew, for the Zoo show next month, JJ told me to get a hold of you, and see what we can do/put together. We all would certainly like to show them a little "Northwest Hospitality" a very distant second place, to the first place finishers who carry the title of "Southern Hospitality." I have a few ideas brewin' about some food, and would need a rough head count, including the gang that we'll be with at the show, about a dozen. Email me if you would, and we can go from there.
Right there with you Richard on the Food deal ... Roy & I are in like Flynn ... wishing it was 8/19/09 TODAY! Still flying high .... woo hoo look @ me!!!!!!
