Let's try something new kids. Below is a link to a song on the archive. Let's see who can name the show. I'll open up the thread this Thurs a.m. at which time y'all can start guessing.

To "win" you have to name the show--the date, the venue. (There ain't no prizes--winning means bragging rights.)

Maybe this'll be worth prizes or something. Let's see how it goes first and make sure everyone can open up the link with no problems and all that. I think I got the hitches out that give away the show name and date when you download it but if there's any problems or anything, email me at webmaster@mofrofans.com.

That Boy

Let's see who can name the show, date and venue: Thursday a.m. at 9 (EDT) and I'll open 'er up.

D'oh! The other night I was convinced I knew what version this was, but after a sound review comparison, I realize that I was suffering from an auditory hallucination. All I can chalk it up to is the fact that I listened to so many different That Boy's that all the versions just melded into one gigantic uber rendition of said song. My sister actually came down the hall and pried my laptop out of my hands and told me to "step away from the MOFRO"

The west coast woke up. I would have to say that that song is from a favorite recording of mine on the archive. Probably one of the first ones I ever listened to on the Archive. Considering I am right and you go to check it out, check out the Lochloosa version where JJ comments on someone drinking all his whiskey, does an Amazing Grace opening before busting out the Harp in a killer Lochloosa rendition. Also a great story to the crowd. "Lochloosa on my mind, madder than a Mother F**ker." UHollis and I both comment on this show on the archive as well. UHollis comments on having the Wrong Side and That Boy back in the rotation.

Speaking of whiskey, I would have to guess that this recording is from the State where his favorite is made, Maker's Mark.

Yep. I picked the set and the song somewhat at random, then noticed it was on my mom's b'day (rest her soul) so away I went. "That Boy" is a fave of mine and this is a damn fine version.

After I picked it I noticed that DT and UH had commented on it. I'd have been surprised if one of you hadn't jumped in here! Congrats Delerious Tyme--he gets the bragging rights.

Should we do this again??

Clay, you are just a big meanie!!!! Making me look like a fibber!!! I swear on my autographed personalized Snook Fest Poster that I emailed that guess to Obi Wan Clay-Nobi on Tuesday.......lol!! :D It's actually here nor there that that I emailed this guess to the All Mighty Webmeister, I was too unsure of myself and a big ol' candy ass for not posting it, so indeed all bragging rights go to DT and rightfully so!!

KUDOS to DT for knowing it right off the bat!

And yes, I think we should absolutely do this again!! =)

Okay...if you can't try to gaslight giggles who can you try to gaslight?

Yep, she did email me the correct answer a couple nights ago (I think she was drunk) and I gave her the Sgt. Schultz.

I actually had to look up what "gaslight" meant on urban dictionary.... :D
But I knew what the Sgt. Schultz was:

Nope KL, you're not going crazy, the original link was for Brighter Days but when Clay realized the link disclosed the show information he changed the song.

Caught me. Well, I wasn't really messin' with nobody but a little birdie emailed me and told me that the URL gave away the date. So it was up for a few minutes but then I replaced it with this one. Honest! (But yes, the ol short term memory is starting to go there kid...)
