"THANKS FOR ALL Y'ALL'S SUPPORT... - the Hunter songs are what I am mainly focusing on now...these are high quality demos, amazing lyrics by R. Hunter and music by yours truly, recorded at Willie Nelson's personal project studio . Assisting me with his knowledge of music and recording is Matt Hubbard, who has engineered and played on some of Willie's greatest material, including the Grammy winning 'Rainbow Connection'. Robb Kidd has been drumming, while I am handling bass duties as well as banjo, guitar, vocals and sonic gris-gris. In the coming weeks and months, if all goes as expected, Bill Kreutzmann and I will re-record these Hunter/Mali compositions with an as-yet-un-named group of musicians (though we have it mostly mapped out in our heads). This will provide a launch pad for a new group, featuring Billy and me, yet independent of BK3 or Papa Mali Band , to release said recordings and tour in 2010. Stay tuned."
Most excellent news! Never enough Papa and the Kidd.
---------- "Now if you happened to come down here tonight...and you don't wanna hear the person next to you sang, and you don't want'em to dance, cause you might spill your drink, you came to the wrong show in the wrong venue."
HOLY SHIT! Hunter & Bill Kreutzmann & Papa Mali & Robbi Kidd!?
This is gunna be legendary! ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"
Glad to hear the Kidd is back. He's one of the best drummers I've ever seen. This all sounds really groovy. Can't wait to see and hear ya'll play (again!) Thanks for the update Stan. ---------- I'm gonna tell you how it's gonna be
i'm gettin some stir from some of the norcal folks that PM isnt lettin onto everything he knows about his band when he goes out to tour the PM/RH tunes.
definitely seems to be BK on drums, but who else??
Phil on Bass? Oteil on Bass?
I would love a Phil, Papa Mali, Billy K, say John Medeski, Luther Dickenson supergroup to tour, but thats being way too hopeful

Hollis.....ya never know. My guess would be Bill on drums, Matt on keys.....no idea on the rest of da band. Talked to Malcolm yesterday and he said he is playing some banjo.....New Orleans style jazz banjo, not bluegrass style.
---------- any groove is reason to move
