So there I was this past Sunday night...

Just getting out of the theater from seeing Terminator Salvation and I started my truck up. I had the radio on and was flipping through the channels and I passed Rock 101. Not my favorite station usuallym but it's on the presets list. I went by it rather quickly but then something I heard registered in my head... so I QUICKLY changed back and heard what I thought I had for a split second. JJ's voice singing the words "I Believe" The radio station was only broadcasting "Track 12" as the song title. I thought that was pretty funny.

Now I have to admit this is one of my favorite songs as it stirs some emotion I usually don't like to think about. BUT I have to say I was pretty impressed with myself that I picked it out of probably a half a second of sound hahaha.

So I was driving down the road EXTREMELY excited that my absolute favorite band was playing on a MAJOR station in my area. As the song went off and I finished the txt messages I was sending to all my fellow Mofro'ers up in this area, "Move It On" comes on !!

Ok at this point I am totally freaking out. More txt's go out and I finally arrive home. I sit in my truck to see what could be next and I just got a House of Blues advertisement. So I hang out for just a minute and when they come back from break they played "WYLF"

I mean talk about triple satisfaction! yes I have heard these songs 1,000 times now probably, but there is just something different about hearing it broadcast, knowing that people all over are experiencing what we all know and love for the very first time.

Hopefully this is a sign of more things to come. It was nice to hear music I love and enjoy on the air waves.

It gets better. The majority of play the band gets is on AAA stations--2nd tier, mostly independent and/or publicly funded.

The station Rock 101 that Briggz heard them on is owned by Entercom Communications; here's what Wikipedia says: "Entercom Communications Corporation (NYSE: ETM) is the fifth-largest broadcasting company in the United States. As of October 2008, Entercom operates 104 radio stations in 23 markets across the United States."

We're talking commercial radio on a big radio network. Very cool.

(How come a classic rock station was playing 'em though?)
