I would hope Letterman- Letterman likes music....and a shot on Letterman could BLOW UP Mofro. But....then again....I don’t think I want Mofro to become HUGE....playing big venues, hard to get tickets etc.
I agree with you, Kimberly, in essence, but we DO want to see the men get what's long been coming to them and finally get...PAID!
There're bands out there getting rich that couldn't hold MOFRO's jockstrap. All things being equal, ain't shit equal.
With the choices given, I'll go with Kimmel, as he seems to have on more "up and coming" bands (not that Mofro falls into this catagory for us here on the board, we know better). Seems the other shows wait for the "next big thing" in the radio world.
Just my .02 cents. You probably won't get a penny for it, though.

I heard gossip awhile back they've been trying to get booked on a late night show--any late night show. Leno had the Lee Boys on last year and they got a big boost out of it. E's right, while the guys love what they do, they don't make all that much money. It's a living but ain't none of them driving new cars or living in fancy houses. Last I knew, JJ's wife drives a minivan.
For my pick, and I'm glad I went back and read it again cause I was gonna say Johnny Carson hands down--thanks there Gunner, I agree that Letterman seems to have a gut instinct about bands. Only others ones I watch are Ferguson and sometimes Conan, and SNL-which would be way cool to see 'em on there.
But I'd love to see a 2-3 minute banter between JJ and Letterman.
POLL INSIDE A POLL: If they get on a late nite show, which song should they play so that the national tv audience goes "WOW!"? (Keep in mind they only get like 3 minutes.)

I would be happy to see the guys on any of the above listed programs; though if I had a choice I would most definitely go with Letterman.
Great Question Clay! I would have to say Brighter Days or Lochloosa. Those were the two songs that compelled me to search out every recording I could find that was JJ Grey & MOFRO related. But given the time constraints of live tv, the songs would need to be abridged (no jams, BOO HISS!) ---------- When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years, Then they expect you to pick a career, When you can't really function you're so full of fear, A working class hero is something to be
It's fun to dream, isn't it? I'd love to see Mofro on any of those shows -- especially SNL! They'd get a chance to play a few songs. Well, here's an idea. How about we all send an email to Letterman (cbsmailbag@aol.com -- "Late Show" subject line), or any of the other shows for that matter, requesting our favorite band to be a musical guest. Perhaps if they saw folks were interested, they would at least give Mofro a listen and make a consideration, no? There is power in numbers, and we could start a campaign! It's the least we could do for our boys who give us so much! [Not a bad suggestion for my 800th post! Tee hee!]
I agree with giggles that "Lochloosa" is incredibly compelling and is the song that instantly made me a fan. Or "The Wrong Side" might have a more "mainstream" appeal. That song is pretty catchy. However, they probably want to play something off the newest album -- so maybe WYLF would bring the heat.

Thanks for the addresses Ashley. I think I will send on an email to them. I think I should also attach a link to a song or something, maybe a couple great reviews. Any suggestions? Would want to make a strong first impression. ---------- "No effort, no gain No effort, stay the same No don’t you ever try to live a lie"
I sent a message with a little bit about their music, said they were Alligator Records recording artist from Jacksonville, FL. And said to check out their website: www.mofro.net; and to hear their music see their myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/mofroband).
