Who's traveled the greatest distance to see these guys play?

If I were to lay some good ol' Southern fixin's on the boys when they come to town, what might that be.... food, desert, drink....?

What in the hell is a Ho Cake ?

And if I leave Seattle after their August show, then drive to Portland to see their show, could I drive to Atlanta in time to catch that show, and then make it back to Eastern Washington/The Gorge to see Saving Able, Hinder, Papa Roach, and NickleBack, the day before my son's 7th birthday ?

The Gorge is one of my all time favorite venues, what an absolutely amazing vista! I fly out every year and camp at Vantage and catch some shows=).......

Richard, a Ho Cake is a griddle cake made with corn meal, they are very tasty. I am sure there are different versions, here is mine:

Ramp Ho Cakes 3464

As for fixin vittles for the boys, I think it is a grand idea. They probably eat alot of fast food on the road and a good home cooked meal delivered to their bus would indeed be a wonderful treat. I have fixed them (the band and the crew) a BBQ spread twice, once in Nashville and once in Ashville.

Richard, I think Sunshine has already taken the position of "Official Mofro caterer". Hell, she even got a special shout-out during the show at The Peel for her BBQ. So, good luck trying to compete with Silence of the Hams. But, it's worth a shot. You know the band will be grateful.

One more thing, I'm still listening to Brighter Days doing my "bobble-head" dance at my desk. Feel the vibe Sunshine, feel the vibe.

Ha ha, I already had my "first" fix of "Brighter Days" Peel style on the way into work. Had my Zach and his buddy doin the "na na na na na" on the way to school!

Yes, the boys would be very thankful! I told JJ back stage that night at the Peel that they will always have BBQ and my beans in Asheville. And yes, it was indeed a thrill to get a shout out about our vittles!!

And fer you TN, I am doing the bobble head as I type to Brighter Days (fix #2)!!! Ain't no better way to start a day!!

Oh yes, TN_Cracka's got that groove. And he's quick too...he saw JJ toss his harp and -boom- he was there like greased lightning with the grab. Yeah Richard the quote that Sunshine had as her sig is what JJ said during Ho Cake (when JJ talks about the "authority" that said the beans are spicy--that's his wife and for anyone that saw here there you could tell she was veeeerrrry preg at the time. She delivered the following week. THAT'S what Sunshine's BBQ will do to ya!)

All that said, I know with JJ you can't go wrong with fish. I've seen Art eat anything at any hour. AC's mom has told me he's a great cook. That's about all I know!

Except for me Clay, I was so thrilled to be brought back stage by Chris, that I didn't even notice she was expecting, AND I even gave her a hug to boot!!!

It's not a Tasty Kake! Tasty Kakes are little bites of sucrose heaven! The Toast R Corn Cakes are made by Thomas', the same company that makes the english muffins!

If I were bold enough to take the guys food, I think I would bring a sampling of local cuisine. But being as how I am from Philly that would be Cheesesteaks, Hoagies, Soft Pretzels, Shoo-fly Pie, Tasty Kakes, Goldberg Peanut Chews & Scrapple. It seems that all the food Philly is famous for is just plain terrible for you, literally enough to induce a heart attack, but damn it's all tasty! :p

giggles, all these guys had were lard and frying pans growin' up (ovens were too expensive) so your lard-free food sounds healthy in comparison

A Ho Cake sounds a lot like a pancake made from corn based raw materials
