I live in Melbourne Beach, AKA PARADISE.. ( i know i am a bit proud of my hood)

still some bobcasts left on the island, they are elusive for sure, but we sometimes get the great pleasuere of seeing them hunt in my friend's back yard since it's on the preserve.

sunset is on the st. john's river west of me.. and the pic of my son on the boat is on the indian river which borders the island on the west side.

I feel the same way about my surroundings. We should all be so lucky to love where we live. Althogh I did spend 25 years in Florida and I did enjoy it, I personally needed to relocate to a less populated and more naturalistic setting. So the mountains it was. And I do LOVE returning back to Florida every year for our visits.

For those who don't know, the snook fishing at Sebastian is some of the best in the state...which would make it some of the best in North America. The big Breeder bridge snook over there will make you wish you brought a larger rod and reel. Beasts, I tell ya!

Mo, the pic of Davin on the bow of the boat is so super sweet. The Indian River Lagoon is simply paradise. She's getting harder and harder to find...

Very nice everybody. Beautiful pics Stan and Morena. I lived in Melbourne Beach for about a year when I was about 10. Great little place to live as a kid. We were right by Holland Park on the beach. The waves there are incredible. We used to ride on canvas rafts all day until our chests were raw. Shark fishing was good too...there were lots of shark fishermen there. Beautiful place but a lot of the Australian Pines have been blown away now. But I love the east coast; I think it's purtier than the west.

I was born in a small Central Florida town and lived within 20 miles of it for the first 21 years of my life. I've been in Tampa for 25+. I'm ready for a change of scenery. Where I really want to live is up where both Gimee That Drop and Sunshine live.

I dunno why I want to move away from Tampa though. Some people say I'm just jaded. I mean, we've got a great house. We wanted a house with a lot of wildlife around and we have one--this is the view from our back porch.

One of our favorite things to do is head down to the hazardous materials dump and collect medical waste on weekends. It doesn't pay all that well but it's something to do.

This is what my view looks like going to work every morning.

This is what my view looks like coming home from work every day.

We always wanted to live on the water. We have beautiful sunsets here from our front porch.

you look good in white Clay....Yep, I know the feeling, after 25 years I was ready for a change. Still love it back home. But I love it here as well, one day near 80, next can be a high of 45...

Sorry. Sometimes I just can't help myself. Maybe it's time to have my meds adjusted.

Jesus Clay, did you just make a Hee Haw reference? Christ I think the fact that I even recognized what you were talking about means I NEED medication!

eric, you are correct about the snook fishing here. you can also snorkel the inlet around the tide pool and out to the rope swing where you can see hundreds of them!!
