I just turned 46 on 4/26/09, have seen a few concerts in my days, most of any one band has been the Rolling Stones, first time back in 1981 for a total of 6 times. By the end of this summer, and having started last September, my wife and I will have seen JJ Grey and Mofro, 5 frickin' times !!! This summer, rain or shine will be a blast !! Got tickets to see ya'll in Winthrop in July, and again in August at the Woodlawn Park Zoo along with Susan Tedeschi !!! Thanks Alligator Records and Madison House, not to mention JJ Grey and Mofro for being such a bunch of traveling fools and playing your hearts out for us !!!
I love to see one's enthusiasm when it comes to these guys! It's like they bring out the teenagers in us. They are indeed a group of very cool dudes. I have also had the pleasure of speaking with most of them after shows. And they are the most down to earth folks that enjoy spending moments with their fans.
Now everyone hold up your drinks and lets toast to JJ and the Boys!!!

Richard that's awesome. A toast also to you and your wife for catching the vibe...aside from a long break from the first and second times we saw them we did the same thing. We then saw 'em like 6 times in 4 months. They do that to you don't they.
Wish I could see one of the shows with Susan but can't do those. Gonna try to see the one with Derek in Charlotte later this year though.
I take it you're somewhere in the NW eh?

Yes sir, and still waiting for the guitar to arrive too. These guys just have a way of gettin' into your blood, bones, and soul. Hell, a friend of mine, a Portuguese guy at that, who lived in Jacksonvill a couple of years back, hell, he knew of JJ Grey& Mofro . Armando, has become a bit jealous of my time dedication to the boys from the South, but hell again, it's in my blood. On my Dad's side, my Grandfather was from Georgia, Augusta I believe, and Grandma was from St. Pete. Florida. Story goes a bit like this, My Great, Great,.... Grandfather came from England, wanted nothing to do with the old country, unlike his brother who went to Canada. The States bound brother set up shop down south. Hell again, when the Civil War broke out, the Yankees (who is what I am on paper) confiscated some cannon balls, with my Great......Grandaddy's insignia on them, and since he supplied the Confederates, well his property was confiscated......COASTAL.....UP and Down the CAROLINAS !!! I want my forty acres and a mule damn it. What's a guy to do ? I've to Dcatur and Huntsville, Alabama, the Pan Handle of Florida, but man I would love to go down South, hang out with the locals, jook joints, red clay, hush puppies, sweet tea, lemonade, collard greens, ........ and the BLUES, man oh man !!! And my Lee Oskars too !

estanley 1, call me dumb as a stick, but what in the hell did you mean ? Did ya think I was b.s.ing you ? And if so about what ? My Dad's folks were from Ga. and Fla. Their families used to operate competing plumbing companies in St. Petersburgh, my Grandfather used to have a job spraying mosquitos, which was one reason my Great-grandparents did not want their daughter(my Grandmother) to marry him. She and her family then moved to Waterloo, Iowa, and then out to the west coast, Long Beach California, where she was reunited with my Grandfather via a blind date, set up by one of his Navy shipmate, who happend to be dating my Great Aunt, my Grandma's sister. They all later were married, and my Grandfather served 30 yrs in the U.S Navy, Ret. Lt. Commander Roy B.Paddon, who always addressed us boys as "Master Richard......." always ate "Super", got upset when we would play with the switches that operate the " Electric windaws", had his view on the Japnese (he sailed and fought in the South Pacific WWII, sailed JFK and crew back to a Naval Hospital ship, after the PT 109 incident)and yet was very much a Southern Gentleman, who loved to cook, always wore suits, cufflinks, polished shoes, was polite, considerate, loved my Grandmother and enjoyed his Martinis, conac, brandy, heavy cream, butter, scotch, meat market bacon, ice cream and cream d'mint, waffles, with fresh mashed strawberries, whipping cream and powdered sugar. His ride of choice was either his 60's era T-Birds, or then his Lincolns. Rode Harleys, and raced them in the sand at Daytona, way back when. I only wish that I had talked to him more about the South, and what life was like for him, back when he was growing up in the South.
St. Pete is my hometown. Jerry Maguire reference. Carry on.

My Grandma Hazel went to higschool there, way back when, and some years ago, they remodeled St. Pete. Highschool. She was living with or near my Dad, who was living in Decatur, Alabama at the time, and she got to travel down to the Pan Handle with my Dad and Step-mom. They stopped by the school, and if I am not mistaken, the construction crew let her take a peak inside. She must have been in her 80's. The last movie she saw, which was a first for her in a long time, was with me and my wife..... it was "Driving Ms. Daisy", mand that was a kick to see her light up like a kid again, watching that good ol' stuff up on the big screen. I am proud to have some Southern Blood in me. Miss my Duckheads.
