You got to two shows in a row, which were only 6 months since the last time you saw them play, but that was actuall the first time you saw them. So, three times in six months, one t-shirt, three cd's, one autographed "Lee Oskar" hat, signed on the inside, four autographed "Dolls", one guitar pick, one photo with JJ and the "Dolls", tickets for two more shows this summer, a month apart, with consideration of driving to Portland for another, waiting for the "Autographed Guitar", and not feeling bad about the guys at work calling me "Sick Pup" because I got some "Dolls". Man, I never understood the "DeadHead" thing, untill just now.

When you get that feeling in your stomach that it has just been too long since you have seen JJ Grey & Mofro live, that you look at the most logical place to see them play, book plane tickets no matter how much they cost (of course, after booking the concert tickets first) and are now counting down the days until you will finally get to dance and sing to the best music ever.... YMBAMF.
See you in Dallas JJ... t-minus 22 days...

Thanks, we are really excited. Sadly, the reception will not be at the Mofro show. That would be a helluva reception though. I am open for suggestions for Mofro songs to be played during the reception.

Brighter Days will definitely be played. We will dance to "A Woman" at some point during the reception. That is one of Tracie's favorites. We are keeping the Mofro connection going with our first dance. It is going to be Otis Redding "These Arms Are Mine" or "I've Been Loving You". The date is Aug. 29. I know it is quick, but we wanted to get married before football season started so we wouldn't miss any games. Also, if one of our teams is on a losing streak, we didn't want to be in a bad mood on our wedding day.

If you've listened to the archived show so many times that you notice and remember when, where, and what song, some minute thing shows up in the recording or know exactly what JJ says in one of his 'classic' story/rants to the crowd, you may be a Mofro-Fantatic.
Hey, KLowe, I love in your recording right before Brighter Days you hear someone ask about the Greyhounds to which someone knowing of the situation tells him that they are currently touring with the guys. Most likely that person has now been introduced to Front Porch Soul and will soon be a Mofro-Fanatic.

Thanks Sunshine, for the post and bringing this thread back up. You are correct, I am proud that this thread has lasted as long as it has and as many posts as it has. Kinda shocked in the popularity of it in the same way as to how popular this site has become and grown. I was looking through some of my old emails to and from Clay the other day when we use to talk about how big it was in the first few months and how big we thought it could get. The emails about what we could do back then to improve it and discussing how to go about it to not step on anyone's toes, namely JJ's, with the information and content that is on the website. I think I speak for everyone on here when I say that there is not another website on the internet that I frequent more than this page. I have yet to meet anyone on here, but I feel like I have known alot of you for years and when the day comes that I do finally meet you, anyone watching the interaction will probably assume we've been friends since we were youngins. I think that sums up who and what a Mofro-Fanatic is. Not just someone who likes JJ's music, not just someone who posts on here, not just someone who follows the website. But every fan that has the same demeanor and integrity that JJ has. The caring, genuine, just all around nice personality that gives everyone the same consideration, attention, and respect we all deserve. I guess we are all just a bunch of class acts. It ain't hard to be proud of that, I'm just glad that this thread has exploited that virtue in all of us. Keep spreading the Mofro.

It's good to find a place you belong. I relate to so much that has been posted. YMBAMF if you go to a Skipper's Show the day before your first child is due. ...if all your vacation time is schedule around MOFRO. ... if you drive through a hurricane to see the guys play. ... if all your friends ask you "so where is mofro playing tonight and you answer them." ... if most of the art work in your home is signed MOFRO posters. ... if you have photos of the guys in your family photo album and none of your other family members think it's strange. Jenshew that is GREAT! OMG can I so relate to that. My wife's folks now just assume when we're going out of town it's for "that band we like." Our vacation time gets near depleted (and our bank account too) because of Mofro shows. But I do have to admit that I wouldn't be going to no show the day before my first child was due. Maybe my second, but not my first.
Actually, I ain't drived thru no hurricane yet and my memory has gotten so bad that I can't always remember where they're playing. So you got me beat fo sho!
