Hey Mo, isn't this the night of the DVD I sent your way? One of my favorite shows from Skipper's as well. You gots good taste! ;) Goosebumps are the litmus test for me and that night gives 'em in big doses.

"All I can say is that there's a sweetness here, a Southern sweetness, that makes sweet music. . . . If I had to tell somebody who had never been to the South, who had never heard of soul music, what it was, I'd just have to tell him that it's music from the heart, from the pulse, from the innermost feeling. That's my soul; that's how I sing. And that's the South."

I got goose bumps the night before...it was 29 degrees. Night 2 was warmed up to the upper 30s. It was a killer show man.

Here's a few pics from it. Skipper's Smokehouse pics, Feb 19, 07

I'm glad you have memories of it Tank! That means you reached the perfect balance of lucidity and over-the-edge. I love it when that happens! Both those nites were killer shows. Art and Dennis had been with the band for maybe 4 or 5 weeks but were already in the groove.

I remembered several things from this show. I got to hear ten thousand islands (b/c i love that song). I remember it being 'warmer' from the 1 st night, and I remember the group of people dancing in the front.

Come to find out it was you guys, and now I do the same thing!

I also remember my ex-girlfriend leaving half way during the show to sit in my car, b/c she was too cold. Ha.

Jake the snake was also with me at my first shows, b/c they were his first shows too.

His ex-girlfriend left as well to go sit in the car. We're glad were not with them anymore.

LMAO. "We're glad were not with them anymore." I was gonna say something to that effect til I saw you wrote it. Them chicks didn't know what was good for their soul huh? Oh yeah, the night before was much colder shit. I'm serious, we wore long johns.

It were us indeed, cept we all didn't really know each other then. You start seeing the same people over and over traveling to the same shows and can't help but get to know em! Just like you!!

Well my ex likes mofro, and drinking. I'm the one who likes it all! She went into the car b/c she felt the 2nd nights set was 'slower' compared to the night before. On top of that she was complaining she was cold.

So, ya morena..I'm glad we are through. It's hard to find a woman who likes the same types of music you do. One day I'll find one!

Holla all. So I had to drop some love Franks way. Don't worry about your recordings. Dude the dead had tape flips with pops, chunks missing etc. So your recorder died. Big F'in deal. You still had a good time at the show and a great copy. Perfection doesnt just sit on every corner. As far as the ex's. God bless they are gone. Since mine has been gone Ive been "Walkin on Air Y'all" Frank just holla at em. I bet they would love to let you get your mojo working.

Ashley is 100% correct. The next woman I find has to love music and/or sports as much as I do. I can't compromise no more!

Jacobo is 1000% correct. I like my tapes, as well as you and the people on here. I always strive to make my tapes great, but now with this digital age in taping it should be a lot harder to F up your tapes, and I'm hard on myself with my tapes. I deserve the best, and the people deserve the best as well!

You and I know why the Samsung died that day, but I know it won't happen again. And god bless to those dead tapers, b/c if it wasn't for them I never would have met Chris Stanhope and Mike Bettancourt back in good ol' Lowell, Ma. and had them show me 'the way' in taping, the music and most certainly the culture. Special thanks to Chris and Mike wherever you guys are today....just hopefully not in a drained pool somewhere.

(Thanks for the kind words too Jake! Now, You know whenever I upgrade my rig, your getting it!)

I always had my mojo working, it just took me to realize it in January that I had. Thank you all for helping me find it!
