Hey everybody I just got an update from Almira. (For those that are new to the site, Almira played and sang with the band a couple months back. Her song "Appalachia" is written to the tune of "Lochloosa." She's multi-instrumentalist, and a great singer. Did I mention she's 11 years old? Here's the thread from February if you want to know more.)
She just finished her album! She said it took her a while cause she plays all the instruments except for drum and banjo, and trumpet on "Appalachia."
Uhhhh...wow!
The other news is that she's going to be the opener for Ten Toes Up, who are opening for JJG & M in Wilmington, NC on 3/27. How cool is that!? Lucky dawgs.
On Monday she's gonna be on her local TV station at noon, and playing the Woodsongs hour again that evening. She was really cute in pointing out that she has teachers' and principal's approval and that she's a good student and doesn't want to let them down. I think she's being modest. My guess is there's all 'A's on that report card, maybe an occasional 'B'.
She's really something. She's got an awesome website where y'all can check out her new album, and join her discussion forum, see videos and lot's more at Almira Fawn.com. ---------- MofroFan1

Very cool. I wish her all the best with her new album. Will check out her website, too. Hope someone tapes the whole show in Wilmington! Bring an extra set of batteries, and all will be well.
Thanks a lot for the compliments everyone! I'm excited to meet MOFRO again. Hopefully JJ is not going to be too busy to hang out with me after the show so he can teach me some stuff again, and more importantly, I might get my barbies back. HA!
Here's Almira doing Sun Is Shining Down. Very pretty.
---------- It's a Big Easy life.
