I'm Alive, and I'm feelin Lord.... feelin fine!!
I convinced my brother (my best friend) to come up from Palm Harbor for the show at the Peel. This will be his virgin show, I am thrilled beyond words to share the experience of a live JJ Grey & Mofro show with him!!!!

Clay, no, this is not the same guy. I don't think he ever made it to the show in Baton Rouge. Don't wanna be a nag, he has a wife for that :-)
My brother Joey, who is also my best bud, is making the trip up, and yes, as far as I know we (a group of about 8 or so) are hitting Barley's before hand. Gonna drop off some of my 1st place award winning Que to the boys before hand.
Some people feel the energy of a band and some do not. I just find myself one of the extreme lucky ones that "gets" Mofro's vibe! I mean, when you listen to your favorite band, you want to hear every note, and that is how I feel about JJ & Mofro. In all my 24 years (ha ha) I have never felt this way about a band. I keep telling the folks that think I am nuts, that this band chose me, I had not planned on their music becoming a staple part of my life. But I am sure glad they did.

It's hard to stay connected when you are runnin' from the law. At least it seems that way this month as my wife and I are on the road every weekend. Headin' to Jacksonville again this weekend - shame that Mofro isn't playing somewhere nearby. We will be at Freebird Friday night listening to some interesting Australian acoustic music.
Funny story from last week - a girl in a car kinda pulled out in front of me - not too close that I had to slam on the brakes, but enough that I had to (in NASCAR terms) check up. I was about to get annoyed, but she had a M*O*F*R*O sticker on the back of her car. Free pass.

clay, the (ha ha) means I WAS 24 at some point, I kept having birthdays, but mentally, I stayed 24.....until about a year ago, so I think I may have hit the big 30 not too long ago.........

Swamp Cracka that's funny. I'd have done the same too. But I'm always checking out bumper stickers and do you know I've yet to see even ONE anywhere in my travels in Florida? Not Tampa, not St. Pete, not Sarasota, not Orlando, not Jax, not Ft. Laud, not Miami, not not not. Not one--other than mine. What the fuck is up with that? I mean, some guy will have a bumper sticker that says "Don't tailgate me or I'll flick a booger on your windshield" but ain't one soul that's got a Mofro sticker? Something's fucked up in this world y'all.
I do the same thing for people that have a Gators tag or sticker. And if they have one from FSU I just go ahead and plow right into them. (That's legal in some parts of Florida.)
Sunshine, my mistake. The intent of your 'ha ha' blew by me. You're still a youngster tho. Things don't start to fall apart until your age starts with a 4.

I've seen a few Mofro stickers around Atlanta - might be the part of town I live. The reason I DON'T have a Mofro sticker on my car is that I have one of those "BEWARE: MOFRO PRESENT" stickers and a patch, and since they are the only ones I've got, I can't bring myself to put them on anything. New rule, when buying cool stickers, GET MORE THAN ONE!
I wish that "BEWARE" sticker was still available - it was cooler than the Country Ghetto sticker.

Funny story - my wife and I were traveling back from Tampa one day and we thought it would be fun to stop and have a Coke @ the little fish camp right off 301 in Lochloosa. As soon as we got out of the car (summertime) she got attacked by about 100 bugs. She got back in the car real fast.
Flash to next Mofro show we go to - wife makes a t-shirt for the show using some iron on deal and the computer that reads "Lochloosa - Been there, Swatted that". JJ laughed his butt off when he saw it.
