Maybe I'm crazy, or just had too much coffee, but good gawd I'm excited!!! Anybody else see shows with the Greyhounds opening for MOFRO ('03-'05) and when they would all be on stage together jamming?
I gotta call up some freinds who ain't on this board & let them know the great news.
You all know how I feel...whaddy'all think?

This is the one that gets after it...audio by J. Dude! That's our man G. Sluppick on the tambourine.

HAHA! Great find E, that's audio from one of them famous NYE runs at the Freebird. I remember this giant inflatable Santa Clause, ya had to be there man.
This cool kat named Tyler put together a documentary of the Greyhounds, some great footage from the PourHouse in Charleston...Bamboo Room in Lake Worth...Jeni & Jodi's porch with hammock. I can't seem to find it online anywhere. ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"

Nice soundboard recording from '05. Sweet, long set. GOD BLESS KLOWE & his "on the fly" matrix!!! ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"
i hate to see adam go, but a few years ago i got to set down and have lunch with the guys in greyhound. they had just finishd a run of shows with mofro, and was very stoked about it. so i think this will be a very sweet sound for mofro! and i must note some very kool guys that is already family.
A few months or so ago there was a thread about our picks for an opening band for Mofro...my pick was The Greyhounds. Sit me down and shut me up.
And Hollis, I could not agree more...that'd be super cool.

e, I'll take a little credit for that one myself as I had Papa Mali and the Greyhounds listed as opening bands.....like they did at the Bamboo Room several years ago!
Other Greyhounds tunes that would be nice additions to the setlist:
Ain't it strange how things work themselves out? Good thing no one voted for Cowboy Mouth (he, he).
"All Over" has some of the coolest sarcastic break-up lyrics ever!

Cowboy Mouth...ROFLMFAO!!! ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"
e.....Unfortunately, I was living in Athens, Ga at the time (well, not unfortunately, but I would liked to have been at the show) and didn't get to see the Greyhounds/Papa Mali/Mofro throwdown, but Hollis did. I do have a small portion of Mofro's and Papa Mali's sets though (Mofro's which has been uploaded to the archive, I believe, and Papa's which I need to get with Hollis and work out the dates for each song, then it will be uploaded too).
I, like John Dude, am also very excited about the Greyhounds playin'.....playin' in the band.....daybreak......daybreak on the land.....sorry, I got a little carried away there, couldn't help myself....it's gonna get extra greazy........so, break out your skillets girlz and boyz!!!!

The word for today, boys and girls, is greazy. Not the old QB fof the Dolphins, but greazy, as in, "throw off that leash and get with the grease".
Getting carried away is the best part, Stan!
I'm eternally jealous of Hollis. That would have been the mountain top for me, personally. If you were to take my truck and pick it up, turn it upside down and shake it...nothing but 'FRO, 'Hounds and Papa CD's would fall out. Yes, I still burn CDs.
I don't think I've been this stoked to see my next MOFRO show since the anticipation to my first NYE/Freebird run. Nothing to do with Adam's absence, but for the addition of the two "greaziest" MOFROs on the block.
Welcome aboard, fellas. I hope they tune in here soon and let us know how they're feeling about the recent changes in their professional lives. Now they gotta come to Flarda regardless. J. Dude, can I get an, "AMEN!"?
Paging Andrew and Anthony.....

Damn...y'all got me standing beside myself. The bad thing about not hearing the Greyhounds before is that I feel like I've been missing out. The good thing is that now I've got no pre-conceived notions about them so I'll be seeing/hearing them live for the first time on their first night as part of JJG & M. I've been listening to some of their stuff this week. All I can say is great decision JJ!
That's the one, John. Hollis and I were at this show...you can see both our BIG heads right in front of the band during shots from the back of the room.
Fantastic stuff, JDude...thanks for posting. Feel free post any other little nugs of goodness. ;)

Howdy - thanks for posting my videos here. Glad to see that they are making their rounds. Very excited for Andrew and Anthony. Here is a link to another Greyhounds show from out here in Colorado back in September:
For those of you who ain't seen the Greyhounds, Zack Littlefield was their drummer the first time I ever saw them perform. He's awesome ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"
I'm excited for Andrew, Anthony, JJ, Daryl and the rest of the gang. There was always something special when we all got together. It is going to be a fantastic combination of wonderful musicians and human beings - with unlimited potential. I can't wait to see what happens.
I'll try to dig up some more old vids for you guys soon. If you haven't heard it already, here is a link to John Dude's recording of Greyhounds/Mofro New Years run back in '04/'05. Some video footage of this show is above in the "You're Gone" video:
