For my tabs the following applies:

- indicates Draw
+ indicates Blow
(# #) indicates playing the notes together
#b for half step bend
#bb for whole step bend
~ indicates a quick slide

Also I will put a . after the number to indicate holding the note, and . . . to hold it longer and so forth. Play along with the music to figure out the exact timing.

Let me know if you have any questions. I will post any other tab notation along the way.

Lochloosa (Recent Live Version)

C Harp

(+3~+4)* -4 . . . +4-5+4-4+3 . . . -3 . . .

(+3~+4)* -4+5-5+5 . . . +4-4 . . .

-5-4-3+3 . -5-4-3+3

+3-3 . +3 . . +2+3 . -3+3 . . (-2-3-4) (+1+2+3) warble

Slide to the +6 . . . . +5+6 . . . . +5+6 . .

-6*** . . . (+6~+5)-5+5 . . .

+4 . -5-4-3+3 . -5-4-3+3 . .

-3 into (-3-2-1) fade out until you are basically

just drawing the 1

*Can just blow the 4 instead of the quick slide here and it sounds just as good.
** This part has some bending to it, but if you are fast enough you can use this and get around the bends without jeopardizing the sound.
*** Hard Draw

Enjoy

Delerious - You are the man! Thanks for sharing the wealth and the work that went into it. Its much appreciated. I'm still trying to figure out all the different keys. I'm down to 3 harps at the moment (2 perished not long ago) so my ability to key out songs is limited.

Keep up the strong work.

Almost forgot... I'm thinkin about trying out some Hering Harps. I need to replace my A & E. Anyone with suggestions on the various Hering models. Just curious.

I would go with the Hering Blues if you do. They are alot like the Lee Oskars but better on the lips, more rounded and smooth. I like them alot. I know JJ uses Hohners and Lee Oskars as well. For me, I tend to play the Hering Blues, Hohner Blues and Special 20, Lee Oskars, and the Suzuki Bluesmaster.

And thanks for the compliments on the tab, did it work out for you? I will post others when I have the chance. Like I said, I have pretty much everything that JJ plays, just have to put in the time to get it onto paper and then on to here. But I will have alot of it for you soon.

Harp On!

Lochloosa (Album Version)

C Harp

+5 -5 +5 -5 . . . . -4 +4 . . . .

-4 . . . . -4b -3 . . +3 -3 . .

(+2+3) . . . . -3 . . .-2 . -1 as you fade off*

+6** . . . . Pause (+3+4) . . -4 . .

+4 -4 -5*** . . . -4 -3 +3 . -5 -4 -3 +3 .

-5 -4 -3 +3 . -5 -4 -3 +3 -3 +3 . .

JJ uses Vibrato pretty much throughout so play along by doing so and you will get the feel for it.

*Just slide down slowly like JJ does at the end of his live versions.
**Uses kind of a warble or crescendo here, get louder then softer before the pause.
***On here, since you can’t bend the 5 draw, I kinda use the crescendo like on the 6 or just in a sense turn the harp pulling it a little bit from the right to left away from my lips before dropping down. Or another thing is to kind of roll your head like you are slowly saying no. I know it sounds weird, but you kind of echo the 5 draw since you can’t bend it. Never heard anything like this before with this note except for what JJ does here on Lochloosa.

Dew Drops

C Harp

Intro: -4 Vibrato and Crescendo

Bridge

-4b . . . -4 -4b -4 -3 +3 . . .

+5 -5 . . . Crescendo in and out *

+4 -4 . . . -3 +3 . . . -3 . .

+4 -5 -4 -3 . . . +3 . .

*Use the ‘ooo – eee’ effect on the draw. For those of you new to this, when drawing, just try saying exacting that when you are drawing. Tooo – weeee - ooooo - weeee. You can drop the blow 5 on there if you want.

Pretty easy song to learn, which I love cuz it has always been a favorite.

Thanks JJ for putting the harp on Dew Drops!

(-3~-4)** +3 +3 +2 +3 . . .

(+3 +4) -4 . . . +4 +3 -3 . . . +3 -3 . . +3 +2 +3 . . .

Use Vibratto throughout the entire song to sound like JJ does

*Use the ooo-eee effect on here to get the right sound. You can go back and forth on the bend if you want to on the 4 draw here and get the same effect in a sense.
**Use a quick slide down on this part. Have to play along with the song to get the feel for this part.

Play along with the album version to catch on to some of the tricky parts.

Enjoy

I appreciate that heathen, but no worries. Sounds like these tabs are working out for you?

I have Florida, Fireflies, Country Ghetto, and Pray for Rain all tabbed out on harp as well. I think Clay has PFR already up on the Tab/Chord page. Once I get the other ones on paper, I will get them to Clay to post up on that page as well.

The others I can play along with JJ and the album versions, like 10,000 Islands, Gal Youngin' and Blackwater, but I have yet to tab them out. Once I get some free time, which I should have alot of this summer, I will get those down too.

Keep spreading the Mofro, god, I do love JJ's Music!!!
