wow that's a shocker I heard that it was a song about a boy and a girl in a hammock in a field with some trees on a hot summer day so you are saying that it took place 50 or more years ago?

GimmeThatDrop, Delerious Tyme was referring to Gal Youngin being written about his grandmother.
Lazy Fo Acre, as I recall, was written by JJ and Daryl when they went to London in the late 80s for a record deal that fell through. Feeling homesick, they put together the song based upon that street and area, which as UHollis said is Whitehouse.

I was refering to Gal Youngin and where you talk about the young girl in the opening post to this thread.
As for Lazy fo Acre, I think Clay has it right on and I know UHollis has it right with the street and it's location. West Jacksonville and more specifically Whitehouse. That's where JJ grew up, obviously the reference to the actual song Whitehouse. Obviously, that is what changed quite a bit when he left for London and came back. Baldwin City just down the way westward I believe is where his grandparents resided and were originally from Georgia. Southern Georgia that is, somewhere by Valdosta. I'm sure someone else can chime in on this and give us exact details, although, I don't think they are that necessary. If JJ want's us all to know any of this, he will have already or will give us details in a rant during a concert or in yet another great song.

Mofro for life in Arizona The Rhythm Room is exactly that when the boys are kicking it here. "Walking on Moonlight in the Day."
Baldwin being where Everybody's Restaurant is at. I pretty sure someone posted that earlier, but just throwing it out there again, almost have to with it being one of my favorite songs... ---------- Delerious Tyme

Tell me DT don't know his shit. Another that can fill in gaps is skotdee. Hell, he lives about an hour from there, and he growed up in N. Florida his self.
Thanks Clay, I try my best. I'm not from Florida though, got all my infor from the lovely thing called the internet, listening to excessive amounts of live shows, paying attention to the albums word for word and just from asking JJ questions when they are playing here.
I'm just a Mofro Fanatic out here in Arizona, originally from Kansas. Which brings up another tidbit of info I came across long ago, apparently Daryl was born in Topeka, Kansas? If this is true, there is one person I'm sure can shed some light as to its validity and if it is, I would love it if he could answer a question from a fellow Kansan such as myself.
Jimbo?
If it is true, how deep are the roots in Kansas?
