I have these in wav or flac format on Johns harddrive which is hooked up to my PC. If anyone needs copies, just let me know.
That would be Volumes 1 - 4, btw.

Not sure how I'd upload this to the archive as each song is from a different show....some with different years, if I remember correctly.

As a newbie I need clarification on the rules.
Are no compilations allowed to be uploaded to LMA?

I found compilations on archive.org. They seem to avoid calling them compilations, but they are selected live cuts from various shows. They just pick a date.
For example, here is one that is a 2CD compilation of stuff from a Spring 2003 tour.
http://www.archive.org/details/ebm2003-03-29.flacf
another example of a compilation from shows covering almost two months
http://www.archive.org/details/bmj2006-00-00.LiveLifeLive.flac16
Here is a discussion thread on making an archive.org compilation.
http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=58911
Compilations are not specifically disallowed in the band's archive.org policy so I am just trying to get clarification. Based upon some of the postings I think there are some (maybe a bunch) of fans that would like to hear a few Mofro compilations. I would think that some well-produced kick-ass compilations would bring more fans into the fold and as a result strengthen sales of discs, merch and tickets.
Who can contact the band and ask for permission? Would someone in authority be comfortable asking some of these questions? if anyone is going to make a compilation it should be done above board (no pun intended:)

MOFROTM (Danny) is the band's tour manager. He frequents the site. He should be able to answer.
I like your idea a lot and think it would be great all the way around and agree that a lot of people would love it. But I also appreciate your consideration of the band's policies and holding out until we get something more definitive. Very cool.

give gunner credit, he's done his research... it would be pretty cool to have the SFC on the archive, pretty much "required listening"

Hollis is the moderator for all Mofro uploads to the LMA.....and if he says no, then it's a no. Like I said, I will be more than happy to burn copies for anyone that wants these fine compilations.....just send me blanks and return postage. Either that or you can wait a couple months when I'm finished uploading shows to the archive, then I can torrent them.

staying off the phone here at work stan. its busy.
yep AC says no no for uploading.
as far as other comps go, i just dont see the point. i could see making and uploading a comp from say a three night run where yer gear crapped out each night, etc. but in the nature of trying to use the archive for completion, why dont we do a compilation the old way. how bout a vine here on the board, or a bit torrent. i would rather see it this way. compilations should be something thats a little treasure which aint too easy to get a hold of, especially if your were left out of the initial take. having it dangling from a tree for everyone to grab just doesnt seem right to me.

Does AC have a problem with it being re-seeded on etree? I wouldn't think so, as thats where they were initially distributed, but just making sure. Don't wanna step on any toes...

I have learned a lot from this thread, thanks for the info!
I guess UHollis is probably right, there isn't much point to it. The band probably wouldn't benefit that much from a compilation in the LMA.
How many people would find the compilation, listen to it and feel they've "discovered" a new band for them to go see? Probably not many. LMA seems to be for the people that are already hard core fans.
Has anyone on this board ever heard a band for the first time by surfing through LMA and then became a fan of that band and went out and spent money on that band? Probably very few people would come about a new band via LMA.

Sometimes I hear about a band, then I check the LMA to see how they sound. If it's cool, I download it and await the time I get to see them live. That happened with Papa Mali and Groovesect, to name a few. And of course there are several bands that these Mofro fans enjoy, but I have not yet had the pleasure of seeing live. I do, however, get to enjoy their music on the LMA (including Zach Deputy, Grace Potter, Perpetual Groove, and many more!).

DFcracka,
No one has finished downloading this torrent yet... The first few will probably finish within the hour, and the speed will drastically increase. But I gotta say bro, if your download says 9 WEEKS to complete, you got something configured wrong there. I just seeded it last night and the first round of leechers are already about to complete...

Mr. Drop,
You could have one of many problems (alos depending on your torrent program) i use Utorent. one prob could be that most of the leechers are firewalled etc. and you have problem reachin' there computers to pull the info.
You maybe fired walled or need to open a port to allow yourself and people to access.
FYI, i just got on it and it was dl'n slow for me too.
if more peeps jump on it you should be alright.

WTF? Im stumped on this one, have uploaded many torrents, never seen this. Im at 100% complete, but no one else can complete. Puzzling.
Sorry for the inconvenience, Im gonna start a new torrent. You should be able to keep what you've already downloaded, then save the new torrent to that folder and have it download that last .2% and be done.
Hoping this works. Bear with me.

Revised torrent here
1. Trash the original torrent file. 2. Download the new one from the above link 3. Open and direct it to resume to the original folder you've been downloading from the first torrent
Fingers crossed it picks it up and completes in a few minutes and we're all good. What a pain. Sorry for the inconvenience
Somebody jump on this and see if its gonna work
