howdy ya'll,

Just got back from the epic denver show, now I'm craving more mofro! I've seen many great shows and I'm always looking for great venues. Can anyone recomment an upcoming show in a small venue that would be amazing? (I know they are all amazing) just lookin for a smaller gig to attend. Thanks for your time....

Hey welcome to the board everybody. Know what you mean. I'm usually craving for more within an hour.

I dunno anything about the upcoming venues except for the Orange Peel in Asheville. Great site lines. It's wide instead of cave-like. Great acoustics, lighting. Plenty of bartenders. Small is subjective tho. Their website says 942 (standing) capacity, but it doesn't feel that big.

There's a show in Fayetteville AR on Friday. I've heard George's Majestic has that jook joint feel. Sat show in Oxford MS at Proud Larry's I don't know about.

Then there's the shows at the end of the month--unless you want to go to Wash or AK--in Savannah and Wilmington. I'm sure someone will jump in on those: Live Wire Music Hall, and Greenfield Lake Amphitheater.

Wish I could help you more! Keep coming back cause there'll be some others chiming in.

Proud Larry's is the smallest place the band plays. Holds less then 200 and about 150 in front of band not comfortably.

There you go everybody. That's a definitive answer. In case you just recently discovered the site, MOFROTM is the band's tour manager, so he oughta know!

Hey everybody, welcome to the site, good to have ya.

Of the venues that they play coming up, like MofroTM posted, it is the smallest and most intimate place they play. If anyone knows, it's Danny. They've put on some killer shows there at Proud Larry's, so that would definitely be a good one to start off with.

If you can hit up any show that they play in Florida, no matter what the size of the venue, there is no doubt you will find what you are looking for I think.

Another small venue that is not on the tour stops currently but they have been many times, plus gives me a chance to plug for a hint, hint to Danny to get them back here ;) is the Rhythm Room in Phoenix. Very small like Proud Larry's. Can't fit any more than 150 in there, jook joint feeling for sure, and right in your face. Stage is just a platform on top of the dance floor and the crowd gets thier groove on right in front of the band.

P.S. Just joking about the plug about the Rhythm Room Danny. Thanks for jumping in and giving us the info whether it be for a long time fan or someone getting thier feet wet with JJ's music. You're the best, hope you guys are having fun out there on the road and staying safe. See ya when you make it back to AZ.

The Rhythm Room is exactly that when the boys are kicking it here.

If the Bamboo Room was still open, I'd tell you to definitely make a Mofro show there. Small room, but the owners never sold more that about 100 tickets....they had an appreciation for intimate shows! Not to mention JJ said it was his FAVORITE venue anywhere in the country. Come on Russell....open the Bamboo Room again......the finest venue in South Florida!!
