Wats up people?! After attending my first mofro concert 1-28-09 i am absolutely hooked, fuckin amazing band that caters to almost every one of my musical taste. Ive got a few 08/09 shows and love them to death, I want some older shows now. Doesnt matter what year really, as long as the energy is there and the recording is fairly clear, of course the clearer the better, but ill trade a good setlist and high energy for a little sound quality; but if yall got some suggestions that have all of the above please law em on me. Im getting my recordings from Livemusicarchive, so please tell me stuff that is on there. Thanks in advance yall, happy valentines day to all the ladies out there

bpetty420: Welcome to the front porch....good to have you. As for recording on the LMA, you can stream most of the shows that are uploaded there and decide for yourself.......as you may have different tastes than I......but, it's all good.

Get yerself an external hard drive. I recommend starting with 500 gigs. It seems like alot, but you'll be surprised at how quickly it will fill up!

Try some of the older Smith's Olde Bar and Jake's shows from Atlanta, any of the shows from the Bamboo Room or Skipper's in Florida not to mention shows from Tipitina's in New Orlenas......can't go wrong with any of those

Yea the bug bit me on the first song and ive been hooked since.
jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights opened for them, they are a really good live band too, not so much on the cd.
Check out the 1-28-09 Nawlins show if yall dont have it, excellent recording.

Hello bpetty! I had a similiar eperience with my first MOFRO show. A friend of mine convinced me to attend a show, so I entered the venue with a casual curiosity and after witnessing a powerfully intense performance, I left a convert! Since that day, I have been busily amassing a collection of live shows to feed my addiction to tide me over until my next live MOFRO experience!

The welcoming committee is waking up. In addition to a few others, get used to them names above bp. You'll find them around here often.
As for me, it's dude, although most people call me Clay. (My late mother, my ex-wife, and my trophy wife have other names they've called me in the past, but we won't talk about those.)

Hey Petty, We're all glad to have ya. And I am flattered from your compliment on the 1/28 NOLA show. That was my first taping ever! I live in North Louisiana, but get down to Nawlins quite a bit these days. Probably moving there in the summer. Maybe we'll be seeing ya round those parts sometime! Keep spreading the Mofro love!! ~Ashley

I was just lying about me being tom petty's brother, i bullshit people all the time that im related in some degree to either Tom or Richard Petty, but alas, im not.
ashley: If that was your first recording or your 101st either way, girl that shit was smoking. I was about 8 inches from the stage right in front of Scone and it may sound better on your recording that when i was there...well maybe not QUITE that good, but u get the point. I live about 1 1/2 hrs away from Nawlins and i go down there a good bit; sometimes for a concert, sometimes for a drink or two, and sometimes just for lunch, love that city. So yea im liable to see you around!

Man, I'm impressed when someone can kid an old kidder like me. You had me going on being Tom's brother. That's something like I would do (or I'd call you something nasty.) ---------- MofroFan1

I used to live in Pensacola and had a good friend that worked with Bruce Petty (Tom's brother...he got us killer seats for a TP & The Heartbreakers show at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre way back when). Saw the bpetty420 name and figured I'd ask.

The 2-22-02 show from the Boom Boom Room in San Fran is probably my favorite "classic" MOFRO show.
check out the track "Gimme that Drop" which later became Harps & Drums. ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"

John, you need to check out the Harp & Drums from the show I just uploaded, 7/19/02.....Camp Bozz, Oxford, Oh. It's not really a Harp & Drums, but it isn't Gimme That Drop either. The music is more of what we now know as Harp & Drums, but the words are completely different.

Welcome Petty! I just love to hear the stories of when one first falls for this band. There is something very special and unique about them, their chemistry, the energy.......you can just feel it.
And I would like to say that I watched the Blackwater Sol Revue dvd for the 1st time Friday night and Skotdee, you did an amazing job putting it together and editing it. I loved all the angles and the fade ins. Quite professionally done.
