The seventh annual Langerado Music Festival was cancelled today due to low ticket sales. "Unfortunately, during these difficult economic times, and facing a first year in a new venue, it's become apparent that we cannot execute a production that lives up to the high standards of our past events," said co-promoter Ethan Schwartz in a press release. The festival, which was scheduled to take place March 6-8 in Miami, had booked performers including Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, Snoop Dogg, Gym Class Heroes, Dashboard Confessional, and Ryan Adams and the Cardinals. Promoters said all tickets would be refunded.
also read that it wasn't promoted too well in Miami either. some people first found out about the festival today when it got cancelled. another sign of economic woes. sad for those that were looking forward to this. i remember reading reviews from the the past couple ones and how much fun people had.
Never understood the fascination with Phish....saw them a few times and although the music was decent, the lyrics were WEAK! Guess they hit it big with all the kids that were too young to see the Grateful Dead.......thank God I was on the Grateful Dead bus!!!
That's what happens when you move the festival from Markham Park...there was nothing wrong with that venue. Plus I could stay at Stan's place!!!
