Its 3:00 am and I just got home, gonna give you a few sentences and then off to bed. The guys came out ready to play tonite. Big crowd for a Thurs. in Baton ROuge. Stayed on the second tier near the soundboard and hung out with Ashley for a few. Hey Dude she had her "baby mics" clipped to a clinique bag!!! I brought my friend Brian who was a first-timer. No sit-ins tonite but the energy was up there. Setlist as I remember:
Country Ghetto WYLF Mississippi The Wrong Side Everything Good is Bad That Boy Lochloosa The Devil You Know Ybor City Air Dewdrops...John Dude, had to call ya!!! 6 Ways From Sunday Fireflies Jookhouse Hoochie Coochie Man Higher You CLimb Ho Cake (Pork Chop!!! in Baton Rouge) War E. Orange Blossoms Brighter Days
Well kiddies off to bed with a soul full of the MOFRO MAGIC!!!! PEACE
Want to thank JJ and the band; also Danny, Chris and Adam... I commend you on the great job and effort you put forth every night to make it tight!!! PEACE
That is set list that makes me quite jealous. Would have loved to been at that show.... Good to see the comment that the house was packed. Thanks Swampcracka for the post mayhem/pre-pass out post.

Mofro for life in Arizona The Rhythm Room is exactly that when the boys are kicking it here. "Walking on Moonlight in the Day."
Was the crowd in a listening mood or a "Chatty Cathy" mood? I've been to shows in Red Stick where the crowd listened and I've been there when all they wanted to do was talk. Hopefully, they kept their mouths shut and listened, for the most part.
Actually Greg, the crowd was pretty good. I didnt hit the floor, I hung out by the SBD...Crowd was singing and definitely enjoying.. Though there were some cathy's there also.
I was at the office, moving furniture. The phone rings with a 504 area code & I hear "JOHN DUDE!!! I'm with Ashley!! DEW DROPS!!!"
Thank you bro. This song has been a favorite of mine since back in the day...when someone told everyone to STFU @ the Bamboo Room ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"
thanks ashley for calling me for fireflies and singing to me, even if my boyfriend got mad ( he doesn't get all the mofrofans excitement ) what did you think about the firefly vodka? giggles bought me some shots of it in gainesville, which probably explains some of my actions from that night including being in posession of the firefly vodka sign that was hanging inside the bar, hehe ---------- "..they outta outlaw airconditionin' in clubs, let mothafuckas sweat aaaall night looong .."
Ok y'all. I am listening to my recording from last night. I must say -- IT SOUNDS FABULOUS! I guess the Clinque make-up bag is the way to go!! The music sounds great, even if the crowd is a bit chatty. Plus, the mics were not up high. Good stuff nonetheless.
That show was wonderful. I had a fabulous time. I had 3 Mofro virgins with me and they all loved it! It was good seeing Kerry and Brian and John and Dave and some other folks. Kerry, I'm on board with thanking the band and crew. They work so hard and give so much! I love those guys!!
Y'all just wait til you hear Brighter Days. It was soooo good. Glad I could call a few of y'all and give ya some Mofro love! Firefly, that vodka is dangerous. Too delicious! I got sick late into the night after we went home. But it's all good.
I was just thinking -- I got to see 6 Mofro shows this month. I am a fortunate soul! But also sad that I probably won't get to see them again til the summer? Well, now I can focus on school and on not spending money I don't have! ---------- Fill your soul with music and joy.

And this is my friend Nik -- Lighting designer extraordinaire (see my little recorder on a mini tripod with purple Clinique bag in the background? That's "my rig"!):
And here's me and Kerry (and his friend Brian in the back):
I'll post some more pics after I sort through. I only got a few good ones. ---------- Fill your soul with music and joy.

As always, you look beautiful Ashley! And I can not wait to hear your recording!:) ---------- everbody moving, everybody grooving, everybody lettin' it all get loose
Thanks for the review from the wee hours there Swampcracka! Sounds like a great show. What a setlist. Thanks for reminding us that we too often forget about Chris and Adam. We give kudos to Danny and--unintentionally--leave out the other guys. Where would we be without Chris?!
Nice looking bunch there Ash. They all look too sober. Must've been early. Thanks for the calls! Your recordings sound as if you're setting new trends. Attaching your baby mics to some guy's big ol stand; using a purple clinique bag...watch out guys, Ashley's writing her own rules and kicking ass!
Ash, I have learned REAL quick that taping is all fun and games until Cowboy Mouth rolls into town...then you better have packed some brass knuckles in that purple Clinique bag.

I love the references back to my childhood cartoon and puppet bands. I'll watch out for Cowboy Mouth -- 'nuff said. Clay that photo was definitely early -- that was my first Red Stripe. I have no idea how many beers and Fireflies I drank, but my bar tab was only $20!! I love The Varsity!

Sorry Kerry...no disrespect intended. I'm sure Rueben is a decent enough guy, but our introduction to him was completely bizarre. I've made a fool of myself a thousand times...so I'll always give a man another chance.
If nothing else, I think all of us there that night saw something special in each other when the rukus went down. I think J. Dude summed it up perfectly, "F with one of us and you get the whole family".

I'm uploading this show now and should be able to give ya the link later today (Sunday).
