I want to see JJ play a dolcimer and/or a mandolin. I know he would get after it.

Yup, it was a sitar, but not the traditional one. It was a converted version of the sitar with kind of a slide guitar way of playing it. Still produced the sitar sound. I can't recall what post it was that we had a long discussion about this, but then Danny O. and JJ put it to rest as to what it truely was. Danny posted on here something about it if I remember right and then JJ talked out it in a few interviews. I'm pretty sure they are on you tube, the interviews that is, where he talks about it. The one from his home when it is raining and the tropical storm was just hitting Florida this past fall.

Danny, were there any tapers at the 2/04 show? I am very curious and eager to hear the re-interpretation of Lochloosa =)

no tapers.. but her dad did video her up there so it might show up on you tube but if you search on you tube for Almira Hotel California Acoustic you'll see her..

btw- she slay'd it harp solo and all and the story is she came to woodsongs on Mon and the host put her on the spot.. next thing you know she is singing to JJ, Appalachia to the tune of Lochloosa. We were very impressed. She is trying out for America's Got Talent in Atlanta on Saturday.

lastly, she's now 11 but 9 years old in the you tube hotel california vid.
