I know a lot of you are fans of this awesome band from Isle of Man, UK, so I had to pass this along. Here is the sad email I just got from them:

Hi everyone,
This statement will be released on BDS.com/our myspace, Running Media and Blix Street websites shortly, but we wanted our dedicated fans to know first.
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM DAVY ADAM AND ROSS
"Dear Friends and Back Door Slam Family:
After much thought and soul searching, we have reached the painful decision that we should part ways at this time. The decision was the hardest of our lives, but it's one we believe had to be made in order for each of us to move forward creatively and musically.
We will each continue with our own musical projects and hope to fulfill our own musical ambitions; Davy will be working on a follow up to the the first Back Door Slam album "Roll Away", and will be touring the US to support and promote the record, and Ross and Adam will be embarking on new projects of their own in the UK and Europe, so please keep checking backdoorslam.com for news about each member of the band, and upcoming album releases.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has followed Back Door Slam over the last few years and shown their support for the three of us.

This doesn't mean the end for Back Door Slam, but rather, new beginnings... we'll continue to keep you in touch of our plans via this mail list unless we hear otherwise from you!

That's a major bummer. I have been a huge BDS fan for a couple of years and have seen them several times. I know Davy will be doing big things though. His guitar skills are absolutely incredible.

Follow-up message from BDS:
A message from Davy K:
"Thanks to everyone who has sent messages since we announced earlier this week that myself Adam, and Ross would not be continuing together as a trio. The response we've received has been incredible and very supportive for us all. Thanks again !
To clear up any confusion, this is not the end of the road for any of us... and whilst Adam and Ross are pursuing their own music careers outside this band, I can confirm I will be continuing as Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam. I am currently writing and preparing songs for the follow up to Roll Away, and I will be touring later in the year to support its release. Can't wait for that, and I really look forward to seeing you out there on the road ! More news very soon, Cheers, Davy :) "

I’m Clay/MofroFan1, the guy who started this back in 2008. Seventeen years and running and no intention of stopping because Mofro fans are the best fans ever.
