I don't have time to open up the article at this moment but if memory serves me correct (which happens less and less often) I do believe Mr. Skinner was a high school teacher of theirs and the rest is history?

Yes, gym teacher, sent them to the office because their hair was too long. The legend is he kicked them out of Lee High School, but he says thats not true. He was just doing his job by sending them to the office. If they got kicked out after that, it wasn't his doing. He's supposedly an ornery old cuss whos been stubborn as hell over the years when people want to interview him. He never asked for his name to be tied to the band or for the notoriety that came with it.
Anyway, the dude is still around, 76 years old, and still lives out on the westside. They're having a southern rock tribute concert this weekend for him out on Normandy Blvd... Doesn't say who's playing, but I bet it will be some bonafide Mullet Rock. I might have to take the T-tops off the trans-am and ride out there :)
