Hey Clay, I was just sitting at my computer, bored with surfing the news sites with all the downer stories and decided to "surf" your site. I saw that your very first post was January 3, 2008.
I ended up going back to the very first post and reading quite a bit of very early posts. Very entertaining and I think it was amazing to see that you received the "Fansite of the month" after only 3 months of being live! And it was also pretty cool to see how your list of members has grown and which ones have stuck around. I thought (and how very silly of me) I knew alot about Mofro.......BOY WAS I WRONG.......this site and its members is like the Mofro encyclopedia....a plethra of knowledge if you will. From what I have read in the posts; it is its members and their love for JJ and Mofro that makes a successful site. I hope 2009 is an even bigger year for you and your site!
Doin' my best to spread the "Mofro Love"
Peace and Happy New Year!

I am so very happy to have stumbled upon this warm & inviting haven of admiration & respect. Clay,THANK YOU so much for providing such an amazing & friendly environment for us MOFRO maniacs to congregate in!
Happy Anniversary mofrofans.com, I look forward to all the future fun to be had, because I know this is only just the beginning!:) ---------- everbody moving, everybody grooving, everybody lettin' it all get loose

Skotdee is officially the KING OF FUNK! I've been on a few road trips with him now, and the songs on his ipod keep the heads boppin' & mouth's grinnin'
LONG LIVE THE KEEPER OF THE SONGS!!! ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"
Okay JohnDude, what's so funny? The Little River Band was HOT when I was just out of high school. My ex and I used to dig 'em. This song always got people out on the floor! JEESUSCHRISTONAGRILLEDCHEESESAMMICH I'm old!! (i think you and skot both were probably about 3 years old then.)
And thank you Sunshine for noting a date I was not even aware of. I was in the early stages of building the site and made that post. It was April until I started the first 'real' post. Back in them days we got about 5 people a day hittin' the site. Now it's about 250. I dunno what happened to El-Pro, but Swamp Cracka's still around, and of course dweezy too. UHollis was the first person to start a thread, wow do I remember THAT day, it was very cool for me to see that. He (and Axl and TN_Cracka) are regular contributors to the site and I can't imagine it without 'em. And Delerious Tyme and Kudzu Rising for keeping my spirits high and making great suggestions in the early days of the site.
THANKS ALL! ---------- MofroFan1 MOFROFANS.COM -- all Mofro, all the time

Couple more quick things to add...we'd have nothing if it weren't for THE BAND! Of course that's what it's all about!!
I also may as well start on what you'll see will be a recurring theme in the coming months. This site will continue to grow as the band does. But, I need not tell any of you this, these are not normal times. Amongst those hurting are live music venues and live bands. As belts tighten, things like concert tix get taken out of people's budgets.
What can WE do? First, call, email, or talk to anyone that digs music but hasn't heard (of) Mofro. The band needs album sales (as they all do) and while sharing a disk with someone is nice, getting them to buy one is even better.
Second, do what you can to let them know of an upcoming show in your area and encourage them to go. I know I'm preaching to the choir here y'all, but these ain't the good 'ol days anymore and we're gonna have to go above and beyond what we'd consider our best. ---------- MofroFan1 MOFROFANS.COM -- all Mofro, all the time
i remember when i joined there were like 4 pages of threads. this place has really blown up since this latest tour.
i'm actually glad i was able to spread the music of Mofro this past year. i took 4 people to their first Mofro shows in '08 and introduced several people to their music all of which are now hooked.
I know many of us are constantly badgering our freinds, families, co-workers to go see MOFRO. Now is the time to really implement those manipulation techniques...let's make a 2009 PUSH to get more folks turned on to live shows(not just by archive.org) but by getting them to come to a show & buy a ticket.
And album sales too!!! Lord knows many of us have purchased several copies of each one...but some of us are maybe listening to a burned copy we got from a friend. Now more than ever is the time to take a moment & spend that extra couple of bux to purchase the album.
Call your local radio station & request MOFRO like crazy.
I have several posters, albums, hats, stickers, wallet, t-shirts, coozies etc... every little bit helps!!! ---------- "throwin' pennies on the tracks and playin' in the rain...oblivious of the world around us that was going insane"
I took 6 people to a Mofro concert for the first time in '08 and they are all hooked. They all did the pre-order for Orange Blossoms cuz they wanted autograhed copies. I have the NYE poster from '07 autographed and on the wall at my desk at work. It's kinda like permanent advertising. Calling radio stations is a great idea John. If people listen, there is no way they won't become hooked, just like us.
