And when in the Haight I highly recommend eating at Taqueria EL BALAZO. There is NOTHING else like it!
One last place thats not to be missed: The Marin Headlands Seriously one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, AMAZING VIEWS of the Golden Gate & San Fran!

Kimberly -- it's funny a Californian is getting advice from the rest of us on things to do in Cali! :-)
I have searched the world over for the best coffee. And I found it in San Francisco! No kidding! If you like coffee, it is worth the effort to go to Philz Coffee. They have three locations: two in the Mission District, and one in the Castro neighborhood. http://philzcoffee.com/
Have fun!! Wow! Four nights of Black Crowes!!

Skot--Taqueria EL BALAZO is defiantly going on my list- I already had the Haight & Amoeba on my things to do-we’re heading up to Muir Redwoods & Sausalito on Weds - so I will defiantly stop at The Marin Headlands and check out the view- Thank you!
U--The Wave Organ looks fantastic (I never saw this mentioned when I googled "things to do in S.F.") very cool and while I'm down in Haight I'll check out the Tornado- and thanks to googling up the Tornado (I was rewarded U!) I found Tommy's Mexican food & Tequila Bar (Score! I love tequila)
Ash-- I know- funny huh??- fact is I have been through San Fran every year for the last 10 years to get to our cabin in Northern California...but we have never visited the city...we are always just trying to get to the cabin as quick as possible. And I LOVE coffee...can't live without it-I will defiantly be hitting Philz Thanks!
Thanks you guys... between what I had- the ideas you gave me...and my 4 shows...We will need a vacation AFTER our vacation! (Which will be Skippers 1-2 & 3!! Woo hoo!)
Lucky girl! I love NorCal! I want a cabin there too! Dang! Enjoy Philz. People purposely fly through SFO just to take a quick trip to Philz en route to some other place. Don't give up if there is a LONG line! ---------- Nothin' like a little front porch soul to cure your blues!
The EW and I took a Jeep tour the first day we were there a few years back. It was like 3 hours. Hit all the high points in the city with a very knowledgeable driver. Saw areas we definitely wouldn't have on our own.
You beat me to the punch on Muir Woods and Sausalito.
