you think we could have some pull as to who opens for JJ and the boys?
maybe we could have people submit who they'd like to see open and then we could set it up as a poll and the top 5 or so get sent to who it needs to be sent to.
just an idea.

Wow, I might have just quit going to shows all together if I had been at that one. That's more funk than the law should allow! Birds of a feather, Big Stan...I like how your mind works.

Clay, lock-up this thread! We went from the question to the mountain top in 3 posts.
I'd be a stagehand, the bar back and play the tamborine for that line-up! Anything but the DD.

I hear that E. Good thread dirt. I'll pick up on Dougloosa's earlier post and say Derek Trucks, but (obviously) as a co-bill like they're doing with Galactic in a few weeks. Openers, I've plugged Soulhound, a local band out of Atlanta before and I'll do it again. How about a co-bill with Bill Withers. He doesn't work much because of his long-standing angst with the industry, but in addition to being on JJ's fave list, he's a soulful mother...
Speaking of mothers and a totally different use of the word--how about Linda Cole? Where do you think AC gets his chops? In his genes man. Along those lines, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. Hey, how bad would it be for Bonerama to open, then jam with Mofro? The New Mastersounds, George Clinton (dream on), Dumpstaphunk. Shit, I'm trying to come up with anything that would top Stan's but I ain't even in the same ballpark. For shits and grins though I have to include Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band. ---------- MofroFan1

well i hope that like the top 5, if picked and used, would be spread out on different legs of the tour.

Really? I wasn't thinking of how the two bands would mesh sound wise, I guess I've just been listening to their album a lot and spouted off the first thing that popped into my mind. ---------- everbody moving, everybody grooving, everybody lettin' it all get loose

Would love to see Pierce Edens and The Dirty Work open for Mofro also. I was turned on to the band earlier this year, but have yet to see them live. They are from Asheville, NC and currently dont tour too far from home. Check them out www.pierceedens.com
