Yo firefly...I got reminded tonight that we ain't going by Naples on our way to Delray. Normally we would, but we ain't coming from Tampa. The out-laws live over near Daytona and we'll be there for Xmas. We're gonna leave from there for Delray. Shit! We was looking forward to a pre-party with you on the way across the swamp! Sorry!!! Somebody on here will come thru for you. I have faith!

Yep. If anyone can talk talk you into an irrational decision it's JD. Although I have a Masters in Irrational Decisions, John has a PhD (although I'm studying and aspire to reach his level of expertise.)

C'mon, just do it man! You know you want it.

I had one of those PhD's in Irrational Decisions at one time, myself........then, I got married. But mine was back in the 80's and 90's following the Grateful Dead all around the country.

Hey Clay, what is the best school to obtain one those degrees? I think I am a natural at being irrational & the course work will probably come really easy to me :p

Yeah Stan, I almost lost my Irrational Decision doctorate when I got DIVORCED from the non-trophy first wife, considering it was the only rational decision I'd made in 20 years tho they let me keep it.

gigs, it's actually a correspondence school. It's very hard to get into tho. It does sound like you have the qualifications. To get in, you have to be recommended by a graduate. Since you have the qualifications, would be a quick study, and would succeed well you would seem to be a natural for a recommendation. So, I won't be giving you one.

E, hot diggity dawg you and your girl are coming; if it won't before for sure now it's gonna be a party...

I see how it is Clay, I guess I will have to campaign (translation: whine, plead, beg, oh & I am not beneath bribery!) to one of the other elite graduates of said school for my recommendation!

Oh and it just so happens that my most Irrational Decision EVER was to get married......Thank God, I had a brief period of lucidity and corrected that mistake :p

Ahh giggles, but see...it would be rational to recommend you because you come so highly qualified. Had you not given me your qualifications THEN I would have recommended you. Had you said that you are a very rational person, THEN...

IF there's any way possible to bring this thread back around, I'd like to get a count for the Hilton pretty soon. I need to contact them and I'd like to have some idea before I do. My first question to them will be how long can we wait to make our reservations? But she'll probly want to know about how many rooms to block.

Post-er here or email me at clay@mofrofans.com

If you have no earthly idea what I'm talking about then you either a) aren't going to Delray, b) haven't read the thread about the hotel discount in Delray, or c) still haven't sobered up from last night.

It was great hanging with Clay,Jen,Stan,Hollis etc...

Sold out show, they were turning people away at the door as the venue had reached maximum occupancy.

Taping was a bit of a challenge, long story short I missed 3/4 of the first song but got the rest. Just a slight mis-communication, but BIG THANKS to Danny Owen the show did get taped. Seriously y'all, if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have this recording.

Listen for JJ's rant about playin' with Barbie dolls.
It's hillarious!

See y'all in Jax!

i'll go with the review option
this is the first moment i have been on line since bf xmas. so ill bang this out, or else it wont happen.

got a call up at the house around 945 saying the line outside was about 100 peeps long

i waited and left the house around 1010 and when i arrived about 12 minutes later there were 2 folks at the door, the show was sold out, and the band hit the stage.

Everything Good Is Bad - i think its a great opener. love the horn breaks after the second verse. only my second one of these.

Dirtfloorcracka - please give me this tune at every show. it was awesome. aS is most always is.

Ybor City - the rock of this tune kept the place moving. first one for me. a keeper.

Circles - from three rockers in a crowd. is it me, or does every mofro fan just think this is a seriously killer song. it gets better for me Every time i hear it live

Lazy Fo' Acre - JJ dropped the second verse, laughed himself thru it, which i guess made it OK for peeps that were new to mofro. by the end of the tune the summertime heat from outside was cooler than the bodies inside.

Higher You Climb - i honestly dont even remember this being played. maybe i was dancin or someone caught up to me. IDK. I like this song on the album. funny i dont remember it.

Footsteps (tease) >
Turpentine - well well well. maybe i dont pay enough attention anymore, but i havent seen this in a setlist for a while. footsteps went thru the warm up segment and then one, maybe two the "dont you" bars without any of the 'dont you' call outs, then straight into Turp. around me, it was the nastiest anyone got all night. touchy sweaty goodness. i love this song.

Lochloosa - makes you feel good, no matter which way it goes. I suspect the new video camera will be on stage for the entire new years run. it brings some more fun, of course.

WYLF - a song ive loved for a long long time. still do

I Believe (In Everything) - been totally suspect of this one live, only hearing tapes. well, i still am. the first half just doesnt work for me, but the ending is something special. big. it gives me the willies in the early stages of this song the way its arranged right now. i get funny bamboo room 'shut the fuck up' eebe jeebes.

War - this song is so much better with horns. though it really gives me the itch for an "on my mind" bust out. reign sanction should make an appearance into the sets more often.

Move It On - hmmm. very enjoyable, but i think i dig this one better on the organ. truer to form in my eyes.

Orange Blossoms - ROCKS! SMOKES!!

Ho Cake - sing a long. Loud. a bit silly in there also. Big fun. I big ho cake never disappoints. i especially like it as a opener.

On Fire - hmmm. i dont get it. i like the cut, but i dont get it live. again though, by the end it was thiCk and chucking along very nicely.

E: Jookhouse
Hoochie Coochie Man
How Junior Got His Head Put Out
Harp & Drums (tease) >
How Junior Got His Head Put Out

encore was perfect perfect perfect.
it seems as though the front crew, liz, clay, etc. threw the 'where y'at' call into the drum break of JR. when JJ picked up on it, he went into a half time H&D for the main verse. i think only one time thru. the band moved seemlessly from the one to the other. this is a good clue MOFRO. put H&D in the middle of JR every once in a while. It works. The encore was BIG.

This band is way tight right now, even with a 3 week layoff. City Limits wasnt the dirtiest place to see a show, so i think it stayed a bit reserved, but those that brought the heat, brought it well.

Great seeing Danny and Chris. Thanks Again. Did y'all really play cards later on?

Clay and wife. Nice meeting y'all.
Stanley. Cheers
Dude and Liz. much love.

SoFlaKrewe, thanks for saving me a spot and letting Dude squeeze in with his gear.

Peace

I, unintentionally, left out Dennis. He's been such an awesome addition to the mix. He's so godammed versatile that you never know what he's gonna toss in there. His playing was on, but he seemed a little...quiet. Not dancing as much, not smiling as much or interacting as much as usual. He might have that flu-bug going around or something.

Thanks Stan...we were wishin' too. Extenuating circumstances here with my girl's work. She runs staffing for the Outback Bowl...no getting around that one, believe me, we tried. Hey, since UT is a common Outback Bowl team, as of the last few years, remind me if they're here in town next year and we'll shake loose some tickets for you.

JD is popping my taping cherry at Skipper's this weekend so I might be sending you a HD in the near future if that's ok with ya.

We get down that way from time to time, I'll keep you posted. Keep me in the loop for any shows in your hood you think we may be interested in.
