Kimberly, there's a somewhat decent motel down the road. The band has stayed there before, I think. I'll get you the info on it. It's not stumbling distance, but is only 5 minutes of an easy drive, only 2 traffic signals, little opp to get lost. Nothing any closer; well...actually there are but they rent rooms by the hour (if you know what I mean.) Skipper's is not in the best part of town. It's far from the worst part of town, but it's in a suburban location of low rent housing.

The place down the road is nothing fancy, but I've heard it's clean and kept up. I go by there probly once a week; if you want I'll stop by between noon and 3 one day and walk into a couple rooms while housekeeping is cleaning them. That's the best way I've found for checking places out!

If you want something in the downtown area, or Ybor City, you're looking at about a 20 minute drive (at night and on weekends) but there's an annual New Year's bowl game in town that adds to traffic in those areas cause that's where they all stay, so maybe more like 30 mins. Beaches are an hour.

My therapist says it's good for me to interact with main stream society & so called "normal" people.

Instead of psychotherapy, we prefer to call our group therapy sessions "Fun Time with Fellow Freaky Friends", it has a nicer ring to it:p

Sheesh, my abacus sure is getting a work out, what with counting all these seconds! I'm getting blisters on my fingers from sliding all these little beads back & forth!

Looks like the Tampa shows are out for me, multi-city airfare is outrageous:( So I will be making the Freebird shows only and be happy for that; seeing as how I KNOW that is going to be an OUTRAGEOUS time:)

I'll be taping too, if you want we can take turns watching each others gear.

And for anybody flying in from out of town, seriously consider coming for the Dec. 27th show and just hop in the car with one of us. We will drag your ass around until both Skippers shows are completed & you can fly home from Tampa.

I'm volunteering as an un-official driver for the Florida tour. Anybody else wanna volunteer?

It's true giggles should definitely go to the Skippers shows! I will likely have a spot in my car from Jax to Tpa, but can't offer a place to crash as I am crashing with a friend.

By the way, giggles, I checked airfare Philly - Jax, then flying back Tampa to Philly = $250. Not too bad!

Ashley, FireFly & John Dude, you three are entirely too kind! I feel truly blessed to have fallen down the rabbit hole to discover this beautiful little community of MOFRO lovers!

I originally looked up the airfare as a multi city trip from Philly to J-ville to Tampa and then flying home from Tampa and it was re-god damned-diculous!

Where is the show on the 27th again? And where would I need to fly into?

giggles, you can put us on the list of transportation options too. I love the Mofro spirit happening on this thread! Right antsy-who needs Christmas when you have Mofro?

I've decided to skip Cristmas this year in lieu of Festivus (for the rest of us.) I haven't told the TW yet (it may not go over too well.) But I've purchased my Festivus pole, am working on my list of grievances and having been getting in shape for the feats of strength. Now I just need a Festivus Miracle so that when I tell her she doesn't tell me where I can shove that pole.

I agree. I don't care for Christmas, but I do enjoy spending time with family. My mom will be gone to the Middle East to visit my brother. So, it's up to me what I decide to do.... My aunts are expecting me to cut their hair on xmas day though. I could do it on my way out of town. Hmmmm....
