Here it is some of us don't even have our Thanksgiving Day turkeys yet and I'm talking about spring and summer of next year. But I'm not the only one. Spring festivals are already booking bands and summer ones are not far from it. So why don't we chime in?

FIRST, I need to know WHICH ONES I'M MISSING? I have a poll ready to go--it allows you to vote for more than one--but I want to be sure I've got them all.

Let me know on this thread what I'm missing, but DON'T START SELECTING THEM YET. I'll start a new thread with the poll on it, and that one will also be the place to share our stories, swap tales, tell of wild and wacky adventures, and fun stuff like that there--and vote for the one(s) you think the guys ought to play.

For those who aren't members of the msg board, i.e., our equally important lurkers, please don't feel left out! You can go here and fill in anything you don't see on the list-it's a poll page so you don't have to be a member or post anything.

I'll leave this up for 2 weeks to give everyone a chance to jump in; then I'll put up the poll.

I tried my best to put these in alphabetical order but I went from K-12 in Florida public schools. Nuf said.

Great thread!! How about SXSW? Lollapalooza? I betcha Firefly can shed some light. If you want to include fall festivals (Sarasota Blues), Vegoose, Voodoo, and Greater Ozarks Blues Fest can go in the mix.

I know they were at Mountain Jam in Hunter, NY last year because that's where I came across them. We actually asked them if they were going to play at Mountain Jam again this year but at the time they didn't know yet.

Floyd Fest
Festival in the Park - Roanoke, VA (i actually talked to the promoters a few years back when i was leaving and told them they should look into booking Mofro. i'm still waiting.) not a bad deal, they have stuff go on for like 3 weeks in a row and all you dead to get in is a special button/badge thats only like $15.

and i think there is a festival in NC called "Smile Fest" but i'm not sure if it still happens or not.

Okay, this is going to make me sound stupid (that's an opening E) but I got 2 questions.

Is the Newport & NYC Jazz festival all one festival or is this 2?

Same question--is this just one festival with a really long ass name? Beale Street Music Festival & the Philadelphia Folk Festival.

Keep 'em coming y'all.

Thanks! (Floor is yours E.)

How about Jam Cruise. I guess that's a winter gig not a spring/summer.

Oh Clay, I am sorry for my poor grammar! I should have put a comma between the last two festivals I mentioned, they are indeed, two separate events.
Beale Street Music Fesitval ~ Memphis, Tennessee
Philadelphia Folk Festival ~ Schwenksville, Pennsylvania

No worries y'all. This is great! Another week or so to be sure we got everything covered and I'll pop up the poll.

The site's now getting 7,500 unique visits and 36,000 page views (hits) per month (and growing) from all over the country (and world), so I think we'll get a lot of people participating.

I'll have this poll set up where you can pick more than one (you can't come back and vote again, but when you vote you can pick as many festivals as you'd honestly like to see them play.)

barry manilow featuring kenny G with special guest engelbert humperdick

I wonder what remarkable artist they will come up with. they are tying to make this festival more appealing to the citycrowd that would come out for the day, they're tryin to get away from the 'hippie scene'.
just FYI and my 2 cents

HAHAHAHA! Now that made me laugh out loud. I shudder just imagining that line-up!
Langerado 2009 is being held in Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami, the park is bordered on the east by Biscayne Bay....... They moved the festival from Big Cypress to the concrete jungle?

yup, the first langerado I went to was at the circle in hollywood, than markham park.
markham park had people coming with daypasses and they had limited camping with a pass that allowed re-entry, but there was lots of special forces cops, very crazy.last year it was at big cypress. now they moved to miami. I could imagine it being expensive .guess they want a lollapalooza thing. I gotta see ,if I can work it I will go but otherwise I don't think I can take of work in march, that in midst of touristseason.
gotta say the dollars for jazzfest, the best fest of all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Delfest.

The first one was last year and the second one has been announced. Hosted by the McCoury family. Last year was one of the BEST festivals I have ever been to. Held over Memorial Day weekend in Cumberland, MD. The whole thing was so well run and the late night shows brought out some of the best music of the weekend.

The first lineup was so amazing I don't even want to start listing it cause I know I will leave somebody out. I can't recommend this festival enough. Check it out.

Okay everybody this has been great, thanks for everyone's input! I'll leave this up for another day and then get the poll up.

Summerfest announced the first artist in their lineup for 09 today (George Strait) so indeed bands are making their bookings. So it's definitely time to get this going if we want to have our voices heard!
