Anybody headed to Tampa to see the Nervous Turkey perform at the Ringside Cafe after MOFRO's set @ Sarasota Blues Fest?

2742 Fourth St N
St Petersburg, FL 33704

I respect Bobby Rush, nothing bad to say about his craft at all...I just prefer to go see the Turkeys do thier Nasty, Gritty, Funky, Bluesy thang that they do.

We might head that way. He's right y'all. If you ain't seen Turkey, you ain't lived. And actually by the time they go on, you could catch some of Bobby Rush and still catch some of them.

There's some video of the Turkeys at BSR shot and posted by skotdee on the board. I'll scope it out later today and pop it up here, lest someone beats me to it (ashley).

I love Ringside Cafe in St. Pete, as it is one of my old neighborhood watering holes, but of the venues I've seen Turkey shows at, Yeoman's Road Pub on Davis Islands in Tampa is the best fit for them...but that's just my opinion. They have a date there Nov. 13th...its a Thursday, but what the hell! Maybe I'll see some of ya'll there.

See? Knew I could depend on you Ashley. Y'all check that shit out. These guys are entertaining to the bone.

E, c'mon tell the folks, you've seen Turkey so many times, the guys in the band use you on their "Emergency Contact" card.

No doubt, I do love a good Turkey show...found them by accident at Skipper's opening up for Mofro last year. MY GIRL and I go see them every chance we get...and speaking of which, we'll be seeing them tomorrow at Ringside in St. Pete, and after pestering Mark (organ player) he told me they'd be in full regalia from Hollow's Eve. Now tell me Mad Man Ernie Locke on stage in costume won't be a good time! I see Wild Turkey shots in someone's future!

You've GOT to take some pics of that for the board man.

Oh, and welcome back btw. All it takes is for the extended baseball season to end and here you are again (snookem).

Oh, the camera is fully charged, as am I. I once asked Ernie if my flash would bother him and he told me to just snap away. I think that guy was born on a stage. I'll get the pics to you as soon as I come to Saturday morning/afternoon/evening.

Thanks for the re-welcome, I've been keeping an eye on things here, but being the baseball junkies that MY GIRL and I are, we had to be there as much as financilly possible. If they could incorporate a MOFRO show into a Rays' game, I'd be in hog haven.
