that danny does a heck of a job and he takes the time to come on here and get us updated.

wish you guys could've seen it, marco just strolled on stage, sat down at the piano and jammed it out .

than papa played on lochloosa. now he put the sweetest sound to the end of the song. it was sweeter than sweet.

papa was supposed to close out the festival with an allstar jam with marco, eric bolivar and more but there is a noiseordinance on sundays(fri and sat nite music went on until 6am).so they got to lay only 2 songs . but papa wasnt done yet. he came back out and played acoustic set.

P.S. always carry a small bottle of whisky, you never know when there's a onstage whiskey shortage, and the crew won't have time to hit a store

;) !

lincoln theater, raleigh
oct 14th

In my opinion the sound was awesome. I was in my usual in front of the stage and it felt like the sound was all around me. even in the floor.
I really liked this show a lot, it was hot and sexy and funky. And verry dancable.

so here are the songs

country ghetto
blackwater ( sounded awesome )
by my side
everything good is bad
dew drops
air
higher you climb
she don't know
lazy fo acre
jookhouse ( loved watching dennis gettin into arts groove )
move it on ( that was seriously HOT )
dirtfloorcracka'
orange blossoms
war
ybor city
ho cake

brighter days (love that song )
on fire (jj talkin about the army mule booty )
lochloosa

oh one more thing, adam , that filled dannys shoes over the summer is still with them, taking care of the merchandise.
he's a happy cutie. he says he absolutely loves the band.I asked him when he seen them first and he said in june when he took the gig. how about that?

I hung around to say hello to everybody and than took my drunk-ass home to my sisters house.

question for anyone that can answer this, which i am certain Danny can.

i was wondering if there is a reason as to why the setlists from the soundboard don't have the date/venue info on them. i have gotten 2 setlists from soundboard (one was at Lime Kiln) in the past with only the songs on it and then 2 from the stage that has the songs and the date/venue info on them.

i had to do some research for my ziggy's setlist since i paid at the door and wasn't given a ticket.

thanks for any answers.

I've got a set list from Hal & Mal's (Jackson, MS) from January that has the venue and date on it. It's written so tiny and faint that you have to squint to see it. But another set list has no date or venue. I wrote it on there, just so I wouldn't forget though!

I have been working on scrapbooks, have a nice one for dmb with setlists. I still have to scan in more of my setlists for Clay to post.

Parish - Austin
Highline - NYC
Roxy - Boston

All from Sep/Oct 2007

Musical scrapbooking can be a good hobby, its very easy for concert artifacts to become clutter around the house

In answer to the first question dirtcracker, I don't know. My guess is that UHollis will. He knows all things about that and denies being the MAN but he is.

As for setlists, I've had some of you contact me via email (you know who you are!) that have a lot of old setlists. Soooo...I've decided to put up additional setlist pages, broken out by year. One of the folks has lists dating to '02.

It's likely to take a few weeks; I won't call out who all's sending them yet cause if they get busy, or life gets in the way, I don't want them to feel all bad cause their name's on here but they weren't able to get it done. Once I get them in I'll tell y'all who all they came from so we can all give them a big thanks.

Thanks Danny!

Great set, it was that lochloosa that got me hooked.

Junior opener has to be a rarity.

What time does HCR come on stage tomorrow? Mofro?

Waking up early for a nice drive to NYC for highline.

We need a stagger lee tomorrow night!

I got a setlist last Thursday from the World Cafe Live show in Philly. Actually my sister got it for me, there are advantages to having a ridiculously gorgeous sister:) She just batted her big hazel eyes, and a stage hand plucked the setlist off of Adam's keyboards, she also slinked on stage and got one of the thimbles from the incredible washboard solo (yes you read that right) that Cody Dickinson of Hill Country Revue tore up on!
After the show, JJ gave me a guitar pick and signed a shirt and the setlist for me......Now I just need to find a cool way to display everything.

Damn, all I got to do is go out of town for a week, come back, and this thread is ON FIRE! Mmmmm, mmm...you ladies are too funny. Sounds like quite a night giggles!!

I guess we all know not to mess with Firefly or she'll hurt you.

Junior, I can assure you if there was a dude on stage looking like he was in charge AND he was wearing a Mets hat...it was Danny. I'm trying to remember anytime I've NOT seen Danny wearing a Mets hat.

Clay, it was quite a magical night! I make it point to have fun no matter where I go, life is too short not to wring every ounce of joy out of it! There are truly no words to describe what an awesome experience it was. I went with a Mofro virgin, and it was fantastic to watch her be immediately hypnotized by JJ & the music, the energy in the room was palpable, buzzing with frenetic energy, you could literally feel JJ's voice on your skin, slinking up your nerve endings. Meeting him was truly a pleasure, he was the epitome of a southern gentleman, very intense and focused on me during the time we were speaking and I had noticed he was like that with everyone. He's what my Mama would call "good folk, the salt of the earth"........ and I must admit that when I saw what he wrote on my setlist, I squealed a little bit :-P

The only damper on my evening was a girl standing not too far from me, who felt the need to carry on a loud obnoxious conversation. Not only was she bellowing, her voice was like nails on a chalkboard, like Fran Dresher at high decibels! I am a peace loving woman, I truly try to spread happiness and cheer wherever I go but I literally had to control myself from launching at her and throttling her! One of my biggest pet peeves is people who talk over the music in a small intimate environment, it just shows a complete and utter lack of respect for the performer and the audience who came to enjoy the show. But just as I was about to succumb to homicidal urges, I heard the first stains of "Move It On" and was instantly entranced. Damn that song is like foreplay set to music!

giggles, now that's some imagery. That's a great story about your friend. Don't ya love when that happens? Glad you kept your cool, nothing worse than somebody being disrespectful and have a squealing voice. But fortunately JJ has that soothing effect and makes troubles melt away (and drunk jerks too!) Way cool about meeting JJ and the signed stuff. He's one of a kind isn't he? I know what you're saying too--he looks you right in the eye and listens, and makes you feel very at ease.

Move It On Over > banter > Move It On Over
Hoochie Coochie Man
