Who out there is going to be at Variety Playhouse tomorrow night? I think Variety is the best venue in the SE because the sound is always so darn good.

Being a huge and longtime Mofro fan (from 2003?) I have eaten up each CD like peanut butter pie. I'm having a hard time with "Orange Blossums". Maybe it's that I haven't listened enough, but when "Country Getto" came out, I was hooked on it immediately.

I can't wait to hear "Blossoms" live to get more into it.

Fantastic show! Better than the night before . . . though I missed the fried okra and shrimp and grits.

Mofro and crew tore it up down at the Playhouse. Reminded me of blackberry cobbler with some vanilla ice cream.

I envy everyone who sees them next. If the past two shows were signs of things to come, then get ready to kick your shoes off. . .

Thanks Mofro and crew.

Keep listening to Blossoms Swamp Cracka and you will find what you are looking for. It took me a few plays. Currently I am stuck going back and forth between The Truth and I Believe, singing my heart out in the car while the passersby wonder "WTF is that dude doing"

I wanted to make the Variety show but couldn't pull the trip off. Next show is Charlotte at Neighborhood Theater still Oct 30th. Anyone ever been there or know anything about it?

briggzz I know that's right. Same here, people be looking at me like I'm crazy and I just keep on singing. I dig what SwampCracka's saying because it's, I dunno the right word...unexpected, I guess, when compared to the other records. I think any fence-sitters move off the fence after a few listens though, IMHO.

briggzz head north to the Peel next Wed for Galactic and I'll buy you a beer or 3!

I'd love to see them that's for sure. I've never had the chance. I need to take a look and see if tix are still avail. Saw the Keys there a few days back. Enjoyed it but I think they totally oversold the show. I was pretty miserable at one point and I am always a trooper about hanging in there at packed shows. It was at a point where I felt like I couldn't really breathe though.

They did sound good and I was happy with the way they did their new stuff that I haven't been a huge fan of, but I ended up all in the way in the back trying to get some air. I also think the average height for Asheville is 6 foot 4.... and being a little guy it sucked. I can usually find some average height people that I can look over a shoulder at least :) hahaha

Don't mean to hijack this thread but if you folks from the A-T-L are looking for some music to check out this weekend, Soulhound is playing in Helen on Sat 10/18.

Soulhound is an Atlanta Funk and Soul band that jams like James Brown and Parliament but has the uptown flavor of Steely Dan and bluesy grit of Stevie Ray Vaughn.

It's Oktoberfest in Helen, our drummer's birthday and if that isn't enough, Clay aka Mofrofans1 will be there chowing down on the Fried Chicken.

Saturday, October 18th at Bigg Daddy's
807 Edelweiss Strauss
Helen, GA

Yeah, there's a couple of birthdays being celebrated there Sat night Kudzu, I do believe. Can't wait to catch you guys live. Gonna be a good time!

Hey briggzz that had to suck. I don't like being crammed in like that and I'm near 6'. The couple times we've been it's been pretty packed, but not that bad. I guess we'll find out. Maybe we'll see you there!

mofrofans1....then you don't ever want to come down for a show at the Culture (closet) Room.....talk about packed....asshole to elbows up in there......good thing is that the boyz always play kill shows there. Now for one of the best sounding venues I've ever heard the boys (or most any band) play is the Bamboo Room in Lake Worth, FL. Unfortunately, it's closed now, but man....what a venue to see your favorite bands play....small.....very intimate!!!!

Oh, don't I know it. I've been to the Cave 3 times. First was the Langerado '07 pre-show. Yeah, it gets sweaty in there even before the crowd gets in. But holy cow are you dead-on...they play killer shows there. It's awesome.

I'm so disappointed about the Bamboo. We caught 2 of the January shows this year for the first time and were so stoked to come back. What a place. Sucked when I heard about them closing. I heard they might re-open in a new location but I guess that's probly out of the question now.

Sorry not to follow up boys and girls. The show was awesome. I've really gotten into Orange Blossoms after a few spins. Fav song - The High Side. Movin' on.
