Well, it seems that there is some huge interest in this poll, and I admit that I am contributing to that interest. But there are some out there who are asking for other songs, claiming others are better than others, and rightfully so. But, fact of the matter is, we are never all gonna agree on the our favorite or the best song by JJ and the guys, but the poll serves as a nice democratic way of everyone giving thier 2 cents to the matter. Well, here is what I propose:
A JJ Grey & Mofro Battle Royale, Stakes Race, Tournament, Madness, whatever you wanna call it.
Guidelines:
There are 4 studio albums, not many songs that they don't sing outside of those albums that are not covers, so I say let's limit the song poll to just those albums. Sorry all you fans of Hurricane, Gotta Know, lord knows I love those too, but be patient, I have a feeling they will be on the next one and will get thier just due at that time. (I don't see the site folding, so another song poll will come I'm sure)
So, moving on, 4 albums, they all have about 12/13 songs each. create 4 different polls. Blackwater, Lochloosa, Country Ghetto, and Orange Blossoms. List each track, set a time frame for voting on each poll, can run them one after the other, or all at the same time, which is what I would recommend, but all for the same time frame, i.e. month, week, year, however. Close them after that time frame, take the top 3 or 4 from each poll. Therefore you get a poll of 12 or 16, for a grand finale final four/sweet 16 style playoff. Give that poll a time frame and boom, we a winner, runner up, etc... as to the favorite song as voted by the fans, MofroFans.
JJ was born in October, seems like a good time to get the polls started. Clay, I know you are a master of advertising the new and debuted stuff on this site, I know I will help to do all that I can to spread the vote for a poll as such and word of mouth carries as we all know.
I think by JJ's birthday, might be a nice unique gift that we all can give to him, a poll of all his recorded masterpieces and ultimately one at the top as the favorite as voted by those who he cares about and takes the time to show it, the fans.
Just a thought, as with any message board, please reply with thoughts, whether you like my idea or not. Especially if you have an idea or two, three, and so on to make mine better or one completely of your own that would give us what we are looking for.

Mofro for life in Arizona The Rhythm Room is exactly that when the boys are kicking it here. "Walking on Moonlight in the Day."
Well, DT, I hung back in the cut on this long enough. I didn't want to influence nobody (okay, and I've been tied up, but the rope burns are healing.)
I like it. Indeed there were several postings on the MySpace blog that people wanted to vote on other songs too. I like your plan too; don't know if it can be pulled off in 20 or 30 days tho. To set up several polls will take me some time. Probly 6-8 hours spread out over a few evenings.
Here's the rub (do people still say that; I guess so--I'm people last I checked). That time could be used, alternatively, on any number of other things: I've got about 15 or 20 recent setlists; I've got several pics, including some I recently got from a professional photog; I'm trying to get one of the pros that was a BSR to send me pics...I'll have all those to post; I've got over 50 articles/reviews/blogs to cull through and post the ones that are worth reading/seeing; I want to change the masthead at the top; I want to make some other changes to some of the pages; and the list goes on.
Let me clarify that I'm not saying let's do all that instead of the polls and I can do both, I just have to prioritize. I'm just saying that if we're going to do the polls, let's make sure everyone wants to do them so I don't spin my wheels on something that people are luke warm over.
Here's an idea: I could put up a poll to see if people want to do the polls as described by DT, or any variations or other concepts. That's just a quick click (I can also set it up with multiple answers, then it's just a few quick clicks) as opposed to people having to post their comments here. Plus, we've got lots of lurkers that hit the site every day, or every 2 or 3 days, that aren't board members. But that doesn't stop them from taking a quick poll about polls.
BUT, somebody else has to chime in (thanx galyoungin). If we can get just a handful of people to say yea or nay on putting up the poll about whether or not to do the polls then we'll have something to go on. ---------- MofroFan1

It’s 2025 and my expenses to keep this site up are just over $800/yr. If you want to help offset my expenses to keep this site up please consider pitching in a buck or 2. Much obliged!
