Hey Rob, you bet. Me and the TW are really looking forward to it. Let's see...a day in Helen during Oktoberfest, an evening hanging on the deck getting down to you guys, imbibing on spirits in the cool mountain weather during leaf season, on my birthday. Shit, if there's anything wrong with all that, I ain't wanna be right.

Oh...and fried chicken!!

It's our drummer’s b-day as well that night - lots of things to celebrate.

So …since Clay will be signing copies of his website that night (a sad attempt at being clever, while segueing into a blatant plug of our show) here is some info on Clay & our drummer Byron’s Big Birthday Bash:

When: October, 18 2008

Where: Bigg Daddy’s American Tavern & Music Club
807 Edelweiss Strauss, Helen, Georgia 30545

Cost : $5

Jen and I try to make an annual trek up there either in May or Oct. I've been going to the mountains in NC since I was little and it didn't stop when I became an adult. I have to get my mountain fix. It cleans me out, and then I can go on.

My ex and I have a time share and she gets it in odd years and me in even...and it's the 3rd week in Oct. (Jen's birthday is 10/15 so the timing's great). It's at Sky Valley GA which is about 15 miles from Highlands NC, and about an hour to Helen. It's near 2 hours to Asheville, so we're seeing Galactic that week too but spending a night there in some sort of cheap, bug-infested, rent by the hour motel.

Bring it on up. We got room to put ya'll up for a couple nights til some other folks arrive. There's 2 single beds in the extra bedroom, a pull out couch, and a rollaway bed. (And the floor.) Plenty of room. Won't cost a thang!

Almost forgot, I-75's the better route. So ya'll come up the turnpipe and we link up in Wildwood and caravan from there. From Wildwood it's about 8 hours to Sky Valley. If you're serious, email me and we'll go from there.

Oh. Almost forgot this too. Let ya'll in on my inside joke. Rob from Soulhound told me to bring our appetite to Big Daddy's because they serve great fried chicken. He had no idea of knowing that I'll drive 250 miles out of my way to get some really good southern fried chicken. There ain't a damned place in Tampa that I can find that makes fried chicken like my mama did, or like they do in Georgia and North Carolina...really all of Applachia for that matter. So that's the joke, that Rob don't even know. All he had to do was tell me about that FIRST and I'd have committed to going even if they was gonna play goddam polka.

AND FRIED CHICKEN!!!
