If Im reading this correctly, his Grandmother has passed away, in which case I offer my condolences Uhollis. I have a 93 year old Granny who's currently in a nursing home, so this day is coming for me as well sooner than later so I can imagine this must be a tough time...

Ditto on the 93 yr old granny. The outlook is not good for the month of September.
Definitely a tough time.
JJ and the guys definitely have a great appreciation for Grannys. Ho Cake, also sun is shining down always makes me think of granny ---------- ...when that gal gets down, you can't help but stare, cuz that frame's lit smokin like a signal flare..she's on fire

Sorry for my confusion Uhollis. I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Wasn't it nice when we were younger and death was not so much a part of life? I lost my grandfathers when I was 19 and 20, but my grandmothers lived for much longer. Now gone, and it's uncles, aunts, cousins.
We will keep you in our thoughts and we appreciate you considering us enough of your family to share you loss with us.

My regards to you and your family.
My granny passed while I was out of town on a writing assignment. JJ sent me a song that is worth passing to you - If you can't find "grandma's hands" by Bill Withers, post and I'll email it directly.

Beautiful Tox. I picked up that Bill Withers CD because I saw it was one of JJ's picks on the website a couple years ago. I can't listen to that song without thinking of my grandmother. It's a beautiful song and the live version transitions into a hand-clapping soul revival. I can think of no better tribute to anyone's granny.

UHollis - I, too, am sorry for your loss. My mamaw and I share a b-day -- it's tomorrow! She will be 76, and I will be 30. She isn't doing well lately and I am worried. I can't wait to check out that song.

Sorry to hear about your loss U. I understand and feel your pain. My Papa passed away in May and now I don't have any living Grandparents left 8-(
There was a virus going round, Papa caught it and he died last spring And now Mama doesn’t seem to wanna do much of anything And me, I spend a lot of time pickin flowers up on Choctaw Ridge And drop them into the muddy water off the Tallahatchie Bridge
Peace and Luv,
Mo

Went to a funeral for good ol' Pops yesterday. My good friend James' dad. Sweet ol' bird for sure. Late into the night, a 1 yr old kid danced to some Orange Blossoms. It was sensational. We shared stories and hugs. Lovely times!!

I don't get on here too much, but after reading this I wanna share about my Granny Downing. She taught me to swim, to fish, that if I killed it then I gotta eat it, and to treat people the way I want to be treated. She passed March 7th, 2008. Grandma's Hands always makes me tear up, and helps me get by.
Maybe late, but I can relate. God be with all our Granny's, living or otherwise. ---------- "I went to London & I couldn't get a woman...but I saw a lady pushing a dog in a baby carriage"

It's strange that I just put Grandma's Hands on my profile and then read these posts. My heart goes out to all of you who have suffered a loss.
I haven't lost any of my grandparents yet, and don't even want to think of how much its going to hurt. My grandparents are my parents, they raised me and I wouldn't have had it any other way. The wisdom, knowledge and love from both my nanny and papa is something that will stay locked in my heart forever. I talk to them several times a day and sometimes if I'm having a bad day, I'll call my papa before I go to bed just to hear him say everything is going to be alright angel, keep your head up.
Again, my heart goes out to all of you during time of sorrow.
