Oh my goodness, that must be the Orange Blossoms video!?!? Who knew?! Not at ALL what I expected! But it's fantastic. Umm, I don't think it has been announced yet. Maybe they wanted to see how quick we'd find it. Nice, Kimberly!

Great music video....reminds of something 2Pac would have put together in the mid 90's sans half naked women.

JJ looks pretty badass in his suit with handcuffs on.

At Orange Blossoms release in JAX, JJ was talking about a video that they made. He said that it should be on youtube in a couple of days. He said they had so much fun making it but I didn't know what it would be about... I just watched it though and had to pick myself off the floor 3 times from laughing so hard. I love all of them especially for stuff like that. It's already posted to my myspace page!! Thanks for mentioning it because I found it asap!

This is the video that JJ was talking about at the acoustic set as well as other interviews. From what he said, a couple of buddies from the northeast (Boston area) were down in Florida visiting and hanging out with JJ and Daryl. They were just having some good old fun and made a video for Orange Blossoms. JJ said something about how it was a pretty ridiculous plot with him and Daryl running the orange blossom trade like mobsters and getting caught up in it and how it had nothing to do with the song other than orange blossoms. He talked about how much fun he had doing it with his friends and Daryl.

As for the video, you can tell they are having a good time doing it and I'm glad JJ and Daryl took the time to relax and have fun with the little time they have away from the road and recording. Man, JJ really looks like a true mobster in this video and Daryl, I mean, Daryl! Talk about playing the part. He puts on a show in this video and as all of us know, he is so shy it's almost mind boggling to see him act this way. I love the way he acts in this and pulls of the hitman picture. Wish they made more movies like this. Finally the names, hilarious. Always coming up with something, these guys are on fire...

HAHAH! Video is awesome. JJ Was a badass in that suit and it was cool to see Daryl involved that much. He seems so shy in person. I tried to talk to him at BSR and he just kept his head down staring at the floor.

Looks like they had a ton of fun with it as well. I hope they get to do more of this for some other songs. I could see some cool stuff coming out of "Everything Good is Bad" and "On Fire"

I still ain't quit laughing. I can't even begin to list all the funny shit--it's all hilarious. Yeah, JJ said they had a blast doing it and I'm pretty sure he said they did all the shooting and everything in just a couple days or maybe it was 3 or 4.

The producer is Spookie Daly, of Spookie Daly's Pride. If you ain't heard any of their stuff, it's...hell I can't describe it other than to say it's different (but good!)

Jambase.com has a little article on it here, and there's also a link to more info on Spookie Daly Pride:

Listened to the 8/26 acoustic set tonight ( god bless you tapers!)- yep- damn I can’t believe I didn’t pick up on the reference to the video before....

Probably because the reference follows She don’t Know- and I was still reeling from the awesome-ness of that tune.

Thanks for figuring it out you smart peeps!

I really like the video

"Sweet Thang" fits JJ perrrfectly :)
Expecially that first shot of him when the video starts...dang!

We had 2 posts going for the video (actually at one point we had 3), so I'm trying to consolidate for a couple reasons. One is that it's a little easier for everyone to read the posts from one subject all in one place, and second that with 6 message board pages, and all the other pages like setlists and photo galleries and such, I'm having to add file server space to the site...and thus I got to dig a little deeper into my pocket. I'm not discouraging new posts or whining! Keep 'em coming!! I'm just trying to consolidate as much as I can cause this board keeps gettin' hotter and hotter!

The posts I moved are one from briggzz, which I added to his post above, and a post from jkk1. Since I can't go in and open a post under someone else's name (isn't it nice to know that I don't know your password?) I've put his/hers post below:

Hey Guys,
That video sums up why we love these guys. I can't get enough of it. JJ looks freaking cool and Daryl is the sh%t. Did anyone notice the mob informant "Harry Barret", I think that is scone! These guys are the best and deserve all the fame and fortune in the world.

This video is so full of cool! Check out that huge wooden barn-type place! That is spectacular. I am guessing that is on some family property somewhere near 'loosa. And I wonder if all the characters are friends/relatives. Great scenery, nice acting, fabulous eye candy, hilarious and intriguing story line, on top of that jammin' track. All together awesome!

I was wondering the same ants. Is the old "6 pack" woman JJ's granny? And surely the farmhouse has to be on their property.

Clay-
Why don’t you set up a PayPal account for this site? It's real easy and we could all pitch in a few bucks…

It is a fan site..
I’m sure I’m not the only one who would help

I believe this board will be getting way more action in the near future now that OB is out :)

Just a thought

Thanks there Big Tater for clarifying that. I think more than me and antsy were wondering.

I've already devised the plot outline for the next video.

Sweet Thang escapes from prison and learns that Tater is under witness protection in Tampa. He learns that Tater's hangout is the
Mons Venus but get's there too late cause Tater's been tipped off.

Next scene, Tater, who just can't stay in the dark and has to hang with the pretty ladies, is seen at an Ybor City honky tonk. What he don't know is that Sweet Thang saw Tater leaving the Mons Venus and followed him to Ybor City.

Trouble ensues, etc. etc. I think you can guess which song.

Kimberly--thank you, I appreciate it. A couple of others have recently suggested similar. As I told them, the site's not costing me an arm and leg. More like a couple or so toes at this point.

You're right, site traffic has skyrocketed with OB's release. And there's no reason that it will stop. But that's a good problem to have.

I have nowhere near invested what tapers do, I'm sure of that. Monthly hosting fees, server space, and annual domain names all don't add up to the equipment those cats buy. Although they have something tangible, it's still a large up front and ongoing investment. On top of that there's all those language classes they have to take so they can speak in all those acronyms (that I still think are spy codes.)

I'll run out of time before I run out of money. Actually, I already AM out of money but that has nothing to do with this site!

What I mean is that the time investment in all of this is exponentially greater than the dollar investment. Since I work for myself, I can set my own schedule. But there are times when I'm working on this site when I should be doing something else (that sounds familiar to all us huh?) That would be great if someone other than me was paying me.

But I get paid when someone says "hey do this project for me" so when I get off onto working on the fansite instead of a client's project then something suffers.

Now, ain't none of this ya'll's problem, and don't go trying to read between any lines for anything cause there ain't nothing there. I've not had a "plan" for this whole thing from the beginning, and now after 8 or 9 months of the site being up and having a whole lot more of a handle on things than I did when I started, I still don't.

When this starts draining what's left of my bank account, or starts interfering with other work, then I'll figure it out. If Mofro is successful there is no reason why this site won't continue to get more visitors and more members on the message board. (We're gonna hit 100 board members any day now ya'll!) As we get more and more visitors and board members, we help the band to be continue to get more successful. Life's a circle. Just be sure you're facing the right way when it comes around so it don't smack you up side the back of your head.
