I just got a bulletin from one of 'our' friends at Alligator. There's another radio poll going on and he needs us to kick ass.
This is a COMMERCIAL STATION in San Diego--that's big time and we need to send a message to these commercial-ass bastards to put Mofro on their playlist. Kick the hell one of them pansy ass American Idol no-talents off and put Mofro on their goddam list!
Sorry--got a little carried away. They need us to vote, uh, like NOW ya'll. Hit this link and the poll is about mid-way down on the left. Vote now, vote often! http://www.kprifm.com/Default.aspx

Voted about 30/min ago,Mofro's at 81%,left site & e-mailed about 20 friends asking them to vote & then returned to KPRI to vote again, their % rate fell to 71% ????????
All right, thanks ya'll. Just so everybody knows how important this stuff is--business wise, not bragging rights wise--I even got an email from JJ a little while ago asking everybody to vote. ---------- MofroFan1
Well, I went and voted, they are currently at 69%. Still well ahead of Amos Lee, but it will never hurt to keep spreading the Mofro, whether it is to vote on polls like this, or just spreading it to spread it.
Hey Clay, I'm not sure if I remember anyone posting this, but one way that might help spread the Mofro to others is to direct them to Amazon.com. While they can preview the tracks online there and at other places like CD Universe, Amazon has Orange Blossoms the song, not the entire album, as a free download. That way, whoever you spread it to can download that song, throw it on whatever MP3 player they have or burn it onto CD, and after a few listens, you know they will be going back for more.
The one thing about that SD radio site that got me a little bent was that I checked out thier Concert Calender for the area, knowing that the boys are playing there the day after I get to enjoy them here in AZ, and they don't have them listed. I figured, well, maybe the venue isn't sponsored by the radio station or vice-versa, all that crap, but low and behold, they have every other Belly Up Tavern event listed on there, including the one that is in the Poll against JJG&M. What's up with that? Should be listed... That's crap. I emailed the radio station. Maybe they will take note, but just a little info to ya'll, and feel free to do the same, maybe after a truck load of emails, they will start to recognize what music is really about.

Mofro for life in Arizona The Rhythm Room is exactly that when the boys are kicking it here. "Walking on Moonlight in the Day."
Kimberly--I guess they're still around. What's cool is that it's a rock station. Getting Mofro crossover appeal onto various station genres is going to make a big difference in CD sales and keeping the band going strong. We gotta make sure Orange Blossoms is REAL successful so the next one will come soon!
DT, the link I've got on the homepage takes people to Amazon. I'm hoping to get the little "index" on each page updated today or tomorrow and I'll be sure to include it in there too--I agree, people are more apt to buy if they can hear cuts first. (I'm not sure that the band cares, as long as people buy it somewhere. I'm sure MerchLackey doesn't like me saying that, but I'm not so sure I've made any friends there anyway.) ---------- MofroFan1

Thanks Grazel! That'll show 'em--the British are coming, the British are coming!!
Ya'll keep on voting. We got to show the left coast that there just ain't no comparison between JJ and Mofro vs Amos Lee. I mean, no offense to Amos Lee, but c'mon!!!
(P.S. DT-I popped off an e to the radio promotions person at Alligator to investigate--thanx for bringing to attention dude!) ---------- MofroFan1

I got an email back from the radio station in response to mine. Here is what it said.
Thanks for the tip ... sounds like something I'd love to go see ... added them to the Concerts Calendar.
Tammy
Short and to the point. Hopefully whoever Tammy is took my email with a grain of salt. I wasn't vulgar or mean in any way, but did question as to why they left our boys off but had every other act at Belly Up on the Calendar. Along with my ramblings of how they are the best thing out there by far and if the radio station doesn't recognize Mofro that I would have trouble recognizing them as a real radio station. Guess that is the reason for the comment of 'Sounds like something I'd love to go see" Well, I hope you go and see them Tammy cuz then you'll know what I was talking about.

Hey...way cool, DT grabs the bull by the horns and tames it. You're ahead of me. I did get a response back earlier today from our radio guy at Alligator and he said:
"To the station's credit, they are just starting to get interested in the band. Usually stations list bands on their concert calendar when they have worked with bands in the past. We're trying to change that but it does take some time.
The station wasn't slighting the band, they just don't have a history with them yet."
So I think your email to them came at a most opportune time DT--nice job! ---------- MofroFan1
Yo Jimbo--it's up to there cause we got new competition! Now we're up against Sarah McLachlin. I think we beat Amos Lee with 72%. Now I guess we're on to see if we can beat Sarah. Yeah, we can beat Sarah--go after her ya'll, just like Amos, show no mercy!

Had to take a cruise in my chariot today, about 250 Miles miles with MOFRO on High The HIGH SIDE,& on FIRE.Damn I'm still buzzin ! The louder, the better it sounds.
Ya'll, we destroyed Sarah McLaughlin. It was pure ugly. Orange Blossoms drew 94% of the vote.
I guess the station is gonna keep on going until somebody knocks us off our perch. HAH! They don't know the force of Mofro fans from around the world converging on their website to defend our rightful spot at the top!
New today is Missy Higgins (I'm sorry, is it ignorance or age showing that I don't even know who that is?) Are we gonna sit back and let Missy (who?) Higgins dethrone Mofro after we've already kicked the respective asses of Sarah McLaughlin and Amos Lee??
I THINK NOT! Pop onto the home page and there's a link to the station right there; vote now, vote often! ---------- MofroFan1
Yep, I think we showed them a thing or two. The poll's done--they got 2 others going head to head now. I guess they figured since we beat everybody so badly that Mofro will prevail over any of 'em! ---------- MofroFan1
