Either as I write this, or in a little while, our boys will be playing at the Governor's Ball at the Democratic National Convention tonight in Denver. Apparently, the Governor of Colorado is a big Mofro fan. (Either that or it's the mayor of Denver; someone told me and now and can't remember which it was.)
JJ told the crowd he was going to have to get up at 4 this morning to get on a plane at 7.
After the show and everybody had left and JJ was just yakking with Terry--the owner of CD Connection--and me and JJ's cousin Ricky. Ricky asked him about his presidential interests and JJ's response was classic JJ.
I can't remember it word for word, and he attributed it to someone, but I'll do my best at paraphrasing. He said he thinks politicians are like professional wrestlers. They act like they all hate each other in public, when the real truth is they're all in on it, gonna pick the winners ahead of time, then afterward all get together and split up the money.

I'm pretty sure most politicians stay away from taping these days.
Somewhere Richard Nixon is rolling in his grave at the mere thought.

I know...man, I'm just kicking myself for not coming up with a Nixon joke first.
No Briggz, seems like everybody's gonna be kind of be scattered before the show. With college football starting that day, a lot of folks are going to be hitting up games on TV beforehand. (Does Florida State still have a team? Do they play this weekend? I heard rumor they were going back to their roots as an all-girl school.) (I'll pay for that remark.)
I can tell you several of us are going to the pre-show Friday night at Cafe 11. I can also tell you that my wife and I will have breakfast there the next morning. They serve an awesome breakfast buffet there...best breakfast on the barrier island. Scone and his girlfriend were there same time we were last year.
I'll be wearing one of those big "Cat in the Hat" hats so everyone can spot me. Nahhhhhh, but I will have on a lid of some kind and my trophy wife may very well have on her straw cowboy hat. I'm about 80 years old, she's 29 and pushes me in a wheelchair.
Okay, the age disparity ain't quite that big, and I ain't in a wheelchair yet! Until Mofro comes on, we'll be wandering all over. I'm way too hyper just to sit, although sometimes I have to because of my back.
I've no doubt we'll all run into each other at some point!

Haha sounds good, I will try and get my group to hit Cafe 11 for breakfast Saturday morning. We will be wandering around looking like tourists for sure, won't be hard to spot us.

The dead giveaways are lots of white sunscreen on the nose, sandals with white socks, and a gawdawful loud tacky tropical shirt (because tourists think everyone in Florida dresses that way.)
