I was looking at the setlist page and seen that Mofro played December 29th 30th and 31st at The Freebird.
I was wondering if they played three nights there every year?

Howdy again Foots. They actually played 4 shows at the Freebird. I lost the gdamn setlist for the 28th. I still have pics to put up for the second night--just need more time in a day/week/month!!

(I see estan already beat me to the punch.)

They played 3 nights there in 06. I think they played 2 nights there in 05. I will have to submit to skotdee, gr8ful98, aclarke, UHollis, and other long-timers to tell you before that.

I assume you know who the owner is. It is a VERY cool club in a very cool location across the street from the beach.

If you want a quick overview of the club you can hit the Wikipedia link about it below. (I noticed some things that need to be updated on it. When I get a chance I'll go in and edit it.)

Rumors have it that the guys are changing the schedule up a bit in Dec and Jan. They're going to be doing a Florida run then while most of the rest of ya'll are freezing your asses off. (Sorry, had to throw that part in.) That part's not all that unusual, but it may be that they change up the wheres and whens.

I have not heard about the Freebird this year for New Year's, but believe me it's high on my list to ask JJ on Tuesday.

Way cool Jimbo...that must've been a blast!! So tell all--what do ya know about this year???

Others know more than I, but the boys usually play 3 or 4 nights in early January in Lake Worth (near W. Palm Bch). The venue, The Bamboo Room, closed this summer due to the recession. At the time they were hopeful they would re-open this winter. My trophy wife was down there on business a few weeks back and talked to the manager, Denny. He said they're indeed hoping to do that, probably in a new location. The Bamboo Room is nothing short of awesome, awesome, awesome.

UHollis lives somewhere down that way and may be able to update us on that.

Last couple years they played the Culture Room in Ft. Laud in Feb/Mar for one night, then a night or two later at Skipper's in Tampa for 2 nights, then the next night at The Social in Orlando. They usually have a Gainesville show somewhere in those months too.

I've no idea what they've got planned, other than a rumor they may be playing a Florida date(s) in Dec (in addition to New Year's, whereever that may be.)

MOFRO tour history here http://www.mofro.net/tour/archive/
A very helpful resource...

2002 was the first year they did New Years at the Freebird. From '02 - '04 they only played one night, 12/31. In 2005 they did two nights 12/31 & 1/1. That year was fun cause they played on New Years Day. It was a particular treat to enjoy a New Years dinner of pork roast, black eyed peas and rice & collard greens, then head on down for a night of Mofro! 2006 was a 3 night run and last year was 4. So that means they'll play 5 nights this year, right?

Thanks SD for the resource.

I talked to Judy a couple times last year. I said at one point "...so why not 5 nites next year?..." and she said if the boys wanted to, she's all for it. Of course, she might also have been trying to appease a drunken fan and get him away from her.

I for one think that they'll do 3 to 5 nights at the Freebird again. Ya'll jump in with what you think.

OH...and thanks Jimbo; just what I expected you DAWG!
