to bad it no permission was granted to patch into the soundboard by the band or festival or else it would be downloadable.
if you ever wonder why soundboard recordings are very rarely seen these days, it's because of people who make recordings like this. pluging in without asking and taking for granted the policy given by the band. it's sad really.

I know, that's my point. Most of the ones that "slipped through" like the one you're downloading, are not pushed by the band but by someone plugging in and recording without permission granted by the band and person running the board Chris. Everytime I've got a SBD patch from chris and mofro, I asked permission and didn't just pluggin. Most bands who don't allow SBD patches do so because of people doing things like this.
"there's a good bit of SBDs from '03 & '04, search the LMA. In '05 they started becoming more scarce, I think thats when they implemented the no SBD policy. After '05 theres only a small few each year that have slipped through..."

Oh I agree AC, I was more so answering foots7's inquiry to if there were more circulating soundboards.
The last SBD I remember being seeded is here: http://www.archive.org/details/jjgreyandmofro2007-03-28.matrix.flac16 and although there's some bickering going on there in the comments, the guy at least says he got permission from JJ. I tended to think most that came through like this were authorized exceptions to the rule. I know I have been granted some special permission before so it does happen.
Do people really just help themselves and plug in to the FOH console? I am in NO way condoning such action. As a taper myself, I can't imagine having the balls, much less lack of respect to do something like that, furthermore I can't imagine even doing so without Chris or someone catching you and running yer ass out of there.
Are we sure thats what happened with this 10kLF set? How do we know he didn't get permission? If thats the case I certainly didn't mean to promote an unauthorized SBD, but I mean, once the cat's out of the bag so to say, what are we to do, not download it? Ear Muffs!

people plug into FOH console all the time, especially if its near a taper area, and the house folks are busy not looking. it aint cool. we know this.
on the LMA, i am not to allowed to accept any NEW ERA JJG&M soundboards that dont have band approval. thats the stips we started with in allowing the tune on the LMA.
so, the word is still out on this newly surfaced recording.

The deal with the sbds are just based on trust. If I know you and I trust you, there is really no reason you cant patch the board and there is no reason those things cant circulate. However, it is a fine line as Alligator owns the rights to the HQ recordings of this stuff and it directly competes with what they try to do. Now, Im all for stuff like SBDS to happen but you should always have the bands permission.

with 2 comments on the bt thread, one by me asking if he had band permission, all any BT monitor had to do was look over at MOFRO's website where it states 'NO SOUNDBAORDS'.
so since said taper didnt come out and verify his permissions, they yanked it.
hope y'all got it, and if you didnt maybe someone will offer up a freebie.

I wasn't with band at 10KL so I have no idea if Chris allowed someone, the fest did it or what have you. I will ask Chris and see what he knows.
